- Back in the 80s the networks would have saturday morning preview specials to showcase the upcoming saturday morning cartoons for the upcoming season. A great way back then to get kids talking and circling times in the TV Guide.
This is a full 1982 Saturday Morning Pac Preview Party hosted by Dick Clark. The cartoons features are "The Mork & Mindy, Laverne & Shirley, Fonz Hour", "Pac-Man", "Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo", "The Puppy's Further Adventures", "The Little Rascals" and "Mork & Mindy".
Aside from seeing bits from those cartoons, you get to see Henry Winkler and Frank Welker voice a cartoon segment as The Fonz and his dog Mr. Cool, Willie Tyler and Lester do a bit, and Marty Ingels demos how he does the voice of Pac-Man.
It also includes all of the commercial breaks featuring the following products: Cascade, Milk Bone, Era, Head and Chest, Nature Valley Granola & Fruit Bars, Agree Shampoo, Brut, Sure deodorant, Luvs diapers, Kibbles 'n Bits and Crest toothpaste
I was one of the writers on this cartoon series for CBS Saturday morning. It was weird writing for characters who were for the most part deceased at the time. Still it was an "honor" to be a part of the Our Gang/Little Rascals saga. ....Rowby
I've been told that Warner Archive may own the DVD rights to this series, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.
I think CBS , ABC, an NBC should bring back all the old saterday cartoons back . So our kids can enjoy what we did back then . It'd be nice if they could do it just for a few wks
WOW, thank you dukeofcrydee! I have looking after this show.
Got a flashback this week about this show, wich I got recorded on a tape from my grandmother,I've been looking after it, but didn't got any facts about it XD
it's very rare in sweden, were I come from, not that many have seen it so this just made my day!
Would be fantastic if you more of these, should make me even happier! :D
me entraba y quisiera verla de nuevo en español latino ....que recuerdos
Recuerdo esta serie, no está en español latino la serie completa??
I've learned that Warner Archive does indeed hold the DVD rights to Hanna-Barbera's version of "The Little Rascals". Unfortunately, Warner Bros.' dispute with the estate of Eugene "Porky" Lee doesn't seem to have been resolved.
It's CBS's property, as they bought up King World, The Little Rascals' former owners. The dispute between the Rascals (it turns out that not just Porky was involved) and HB (which was really between the Rascals and King World) was settled in court back in the '80s, I believe. Warners would have to make a deal with CBS for a release. I'm in the process of developing an Our Gang/Little Rascals website, and am planning to cover the animated series, as well as more details on the aforementioned lawsuit.
I wish whoever owned the rights to the animated Little Rascals series would release it on DVD. Granted, it wasn't nearly as good as the original series, but it was a nice oddity.
Darla look so Cute in that dress!
She do
THANK YOU SO very much4 sharing! Im a MAJOR animation fan, &just turned 40, have been soo sad over getting old but this trip2 my childhood cheered me up ALOT. I now subtitle Japanese anime4 english speaking fans, and NOBODY believes there was eva a Mork&Mindy Laverne&Shirley&Fonzie toon made! Do u no where I can buy it? Thanks again:)
RIP Russi Taylor, who voiced Dolly Van Dumpling on and episode of The Little Rascals.
She also was the voice of Minnie mouse
Unfortunately, this series is not available on Region 1 DVD. It has, however, been rerun on Cartoon Network UK & Ireland, and on the Seven Network in Australia. In this particular short, "Beauty Queen for a Day", Patty Maloney did almost the same voice for Dolly Van Dumpling as she did for Darla Hood.
Nina: that's a Great idea CBS,ABC & NBC can have a show called Old School Saturday it can air the first & last Saturday of every month
I didn't hear it that way, but I did find it curious that the town's actual name, Greenpoint, wasn't used in the cartoon.
Are the Little Rascals cartoons available on DVD? I've been wanting this and have looked it up on here . It wasn't posted until you posted it, thanks . I was beginning to think they didn't exist and it was just in my head.
Woim looks like a mix between Danny DeVito and Horace from 101 Dalmatians on this show.
The Little Rascals cartoon series was aired on ABC. Hanna-Barbera co-produced it with King World, which is now CBS Television Distribution. Perhaps that is the cause of your network confusion, Mr. Goren.
I stand corrected: According to Behind the Voice Actors, Dolly's voice was performed by Russi Taylor, not Patty Maloney. The two actresses do have similar-sounding voices, though.
No, you've got it backwards. It was Patty Maloney, not Russi Taylor.
That was from little rascals
And then R.E.O. Speedwagon plays "Tough Guys"?
😂
3:01 wait, is that, CHARLIE BUCKET from willy Wonka and the chocolate factory? I never knew Charlie would become a jerk to women and men. Damn,
Arguing over a girl! SMH!
Lo iba decir para
I didn't really like Dolly Dumpling in this episode. She was a showoff to the boys and was mean to Darla and trying to steal Alfalfa away from her when Darla wanted to talk to him and Dolly lied and said he wasn't home, which broke her heart. :( AND she wanted to have all the boys to herself. :( Poor Darla... :( (I know, I ship Alfie and Darla SO HARD!
Yes, Darla Hood is gone, but Patty Maloney is the next best thing. I maintain a fan site for Patty at MidcoNet. And it seems to me that Warner Bros.' dispute is more with CBS Television Distribution (formerly King World) than with the estates of the deceased "Our Gang" actors.
Really bad..This must've crashed n burned..
22 episodes over the course of a year. Not great at all, but typical of the 80s. They made SO many cartoons, which of course was awesome.
