    Lovely tips, thanks!
I used to be an overpacker, something I learned from my dear mother ("take this just in case") until Sept. 2018 when I went visit a friend in Madrid. I live in Germany, the weather here was ok but over there it was warm so I decided to just take one personal item. It was a life changer. Since then I haven't travelled with a checked in bag. I only take a 15 - 24 L backpack with me. It doesn't matter if I am going for a week or for three. As long as you have at least a sink, you can wash stuff per hand. When I travel back home to Vigo (Spain) I "cheat" because I have clothes there but when I visited friend in England in March, I was there for 10 d with what I had on + 2x shirts, 1x leggings, 1x jumper, 3x underwear, 3x socks, a 1 L toiletry bag and a solid shampoo/soap bar. It is sooooo freeing!! Now whenever I see people carrying more than 40 L I just wonder if they are moving to another country 😄

I feel you, it is indeed freeing. Most of the joy from travel comes from seeing beautiful sights and experiencing something new, not things we take.. So why ruin this all with a heavy bag.🤷‍♀️💕

Great tips! My family likes to travel light. The washing machine tip is key.

You make a great point about avoiding heavy suitcases for the sake of your health. I hadn't thought of that! Very important.

I traveled once with a backpack, I did not like it, my back hurt more compared to just a carry on. But I am getting better at packing LESS so that makes the luggage lighter.

Some good practical tips. Amazing that you have family you can visit in Israel! So much history there! Love from Australia.

3:07 not my case unfortunately. 😅
But I like the shoes recommendation! Specially if your gonna be walking all day, chances are your not gonna want to change to cute hills or something.

Haven't been around your channel for quite a while. But come back to find a nice video again. Great advice and tips for traveling. I am always taking way too much clothes and shoes. But this summer I was on a team building for 3 days and managed to gather myself in a backpack. I confess it was full and bursting the seams. Next time I have to try harder. Because, boy, it was heavy!
Btw how are the kitties? Gonna check your other recent videos for them now. 😁

You’re doing a good job, and it’s true that with practice it gets easier to pack light

I am pacming less and less and definitely still have some clothes that I didn't wear and I was fine. I dis wash aome undies and soclks and tops & a legging to accomplish that..even when it rained in one destination, they got dry ( thank goodness).

I also don't need so many socks because I wear wool socks and they don't smell even after wearing several days without washing

I guess that might apply to a coat as well. Being in Europe l would not travel without a waterproof outer layer . . . But if you are visiting family that could be borrowed . . .

  • @susie9893

Yes, another thing when you're visiting family, you can usually borrow lounging clothes so you really just need clothes you'll be wearing out and about.
However, yes, when visiting family they often try to use you as a pack-pony (courier). But I now employ 2 words: carryon only! I don't have space
