Yeah I don't get it. If it hits a section considered to be a ground rule double, but then bounces into homerun territory, shouldn't it still be a ground rule double? I would think any fair ball that isn't initially a homerun, bouncing into an inaccessible area (homerun or not), would be a double. Can someone explain?

To the dude above me, a ground rule is a rule for the grounds on which you're playing. It has nothing to do with hitting the ground. That said, this is just bizarre because MOST walls don't suddenly shoot down and out. I guess the idea is, if it hits hike run territory before landing it's a home run. I don't think this is a physical possibility in most any other park, so yeah. Wild.

I believe ball that hits to the left of the line is not a ground rule double. It's a live ball (can't be caught for the out) but it usually goes for a double depending on how it's fielded.

I don't watch baseball, have no clue about the rules apart from the basics, there prob isn't a single baseball field in my country but holy shit I get entertained by those breakdowns, you do such a great job
its basically the same as when the ball bounces off the fielder and over the fence
It's the same as if a ball hits the top of the wall and bounces over and there have been plenty of those through the years. Pretty much no one would argue it's a home run in that scenario, so this is similar: hits in play and bounces out of the park without ever touching the ground.

Football fields (not american football mind you) have all sort of different lengths. They just have to be within certain lengths.
