Honestly - as a UK veteran, if someone shook my hand like that, the next thing they’d be wanting is a cuddle and a BJ. My father taught me that you can size a man up by his handshake - a solid, firm, knuckle grinding handshake is a sign of a man’s man shaking the hand of a fellow man - I’m not commenting further, I’m ten years younger than Stephen, so I’m sure he’s familiar with the traditional handshake of an ex soldier from “over the water” in the North-End of Birkenhead circa late 80’s to mid 00’s, and I’m not saying anything against Billy, but that was like two old ladies at bingo making up after a slanging match. In my experience - maybe things are different now that bum-fun isn’t illegal anymore. An ar$e is an arse when all’s said and done - men have hairy ones, and women - well there’s are hairy too. You won’t catch me in anyone’s back alley - that’s all I’m saying. Top interview though. Respect. 😉👍

Stephen, well done lad. I was brought up in Liverpool, very hard City. I use to go to the black clubs in-the early 1970s, I had many black and mixed race friends and took the beatings from my white family over that.
We are all one brothers and sisters. One thing I will say is, I am proud of myself and I like/ love myself, that life, made me who I am and I wouldn't have it any other way. Shine on Stephen, respect 🙏♥️ and never stop believing in yourself ❤️🌹🙏
We dont do black and white in Liverpool, you are either scouse or a wool, only colour that we see is Red or Blue. If you are scouse then your skin is irrelevant
Fascinating story. I'd seen podcasts of Stephen French, before, he was suffering from the effects of a serious head injury and could barely speak. So glad to see he's doing ok now. Great interview. Z 🇵🇸

The social services and care homes are still the same today. They threaten you when you see something wrong to keep your mouth shut and try to make you tell lies about people. Big up stephen French.
Sad Poor's kids
On the topic of childrens homes/ effects from abuse etc and i think one of if not the most serious over looked things today - people who blatantly shouldn't have children shouldn't be allowed them, there should be assessments etc like with everything else! Especially the ones that have had 4 kids by 4 different dads and have all kids in care or looked after by family. By law they shouldn't be allowed any more and it should be taken very seriously because to me itz serious child abuse - just having another baby at the risk of the poor little thing being abused somewhere along its miserable life! It's one of few subjects I am opionated on and it literally makes me angry how the whole subject is not AT ALL taken seriously but massive efforts and money/ punishment go into relatively trivial things with no where near the same seriousl implications as this! One quick example - vaping around others etc ffs people in the right places fking wake the fk up! Great podcast Billy/Sitephen

The difference between this interview and Stephen's last one is like night and day. I thought he'd lost it last time I saw him, looks sharper than ever now. Glad he's back to his old self, plenty more entertainment and stories to come.

Great podcast. Don't know the man personally, but man is defo an old school G. The fact he is still immaculate at around 63 years of age, having lived on roadz, is his proof that he has done well. Good to see man's got peace in finding God, and keeping his kids and family close to him. Youth of today need people like Mr French, to advise and stop them from going down the dead end of road life. So much talent and skills that the youth have are being wasted on roads, when they could be making a valuable contribution in making this country a better place to live. Keep up the good fight lads. Great work

I remember picking frenchie up from eleanor park back in 2005,I was in a Peugeot 307 and he gets in throws the passenger chair back cause he was that tall,he looks at me(I didn't know him at this point) he said we're going to longy so we go there it's 2am and we start talking about boxing cause I've boxed and love the sport and I had a brilliant normal convo with him. He was a gentleman and we had a laugh. About 3 weeks later I was watching telly and there he was with Danny dyer on Britain's hardest men I was shocked hahaha. Nice fella Steve in my short time with him anyway

this is fascinating and you can see what made Stephen the way he was...I grew up in those days myself on the other side of the water. weirdly I also went over and trained at his club with Ronnie calwell a few times, sparring with kelvin allayne and the rest. probably included Stephen although I cant remember specifically. I watch this and can see the warrior this man is, and product of so much cruelty. I wish him a peaceful future.

No doubt, a very dangerous man when at his physical peak, no doubt about that at all. It's interesting isn't it, that a lot of men of violence, if they're lucky enough to make old bones, very much seem to have an 'awakening', a realisation that the way they lived their lives was a waste, that violence was never the answer, never the solution.
