This is my first day in Pyongyang, North Korea and I came with no expectations at all! Is North Korea what I expected?

Obviously Pyongyang looks like a town than a capital city. So dead empty.
North Korean regime is famously inflating numbers so they can show off as a great country, with biggest everything and most of everything (e.g. they say one of their leaders wrote like 100 books a day and people actually believe it because of propaganda).
Also half of the blocks in Pyongyang are empty or not even finished construction, as DPRK citizen you are allowed to go to Pyongyang only if you're elite and only on the state's invitation. That's why it seems there's not many people around because there actually isn't.

So what? 99,9% of all people who travel to places visits "the best of the country" anyway, wherever they go. People always complain about this when it comes to DPRK, like they would like to visit the rural areas anyway?! How often do people travel to whatever and say "Let's not go to the awesome beautiful places, let's go 500 km out in the fields where the poor people live!"? Not very often...
@@hellion9547 It depends what you want in a trip/holiday. It doesn’t give you a compete or whole view on the place you’re visiting. Seeing the more local and authentic areas although may not be as beautiful can give you a different and more genuine experience.

In Poland we also had something like this: shows visitors about cool places and they said we were super strong etc... and meanwhile the militia killed people

No Money Challenge 2019: North Korean Internment Camp
I do like Simon’s videos, it feels so natural, as if he is not aware that he is filming himself. It’s very watchable and has very good video editing. This is million times better than any travel programmes on TV, where it looks staged and the presenters are too corny.
I'm a new subscriber. Really love seeing you travel the world like this.
