goed je hier te zien eppie. ben er destijds geloof ik wel uurtje of 8 mee bezig geweest. gelukkig komen de meeste zappa posts wel door de youtube censorpolice.
i love Zappa’s music! period. it’s genius! BUT....as far as the 1960’s hippie culture, ie, that culture made his career and his music possible: why did he like to insult and dismiss the culture that made his type of music possible? his attitude unfortunately seemed like weird elitism.
That's true elitism was Frank but that's the way it was. He might have been above musically everyone else but shouldn't have shown it that much but again that's just the way frank was. So what.
Because he looked at it for what it was. It was supposed to be a revolution that aimed to change society, but ended up mostly being about kids rolling around in the mud on drugs & getting STDs. They didn’t really change society like the movement had hoped
He just saw the hippie culture for what it was.. thin and phoney. A costume for people to wear. By the time 66/67 rolled around they were a target demographic to sell things to and that's it, they accomplished little of the peace and love they promised they would.
That was great to hear Frank and the interview outstanding, thanks for sharing
Deze is cool Henry!
