I'm 46 years old & been a car freak since I was 4 years old & been to drag races & world of wheels car shows & twice to Dallas autorama & lowrider super shows & even painted a black Grand National in Dallas that took 2nd place best paint job & currently working in street rod shop in Amarillo Tx & believe me your building something nice the hell with all the haters
Look, everybody has their own taste whether you like the wheels or not, or whatever the case may be. It's just nice to see Mustangs come back from the dead. All Mustangs should be restored and not just sitting in a junkyard somewhere. Great job guys.
too many times in the modern day do people blindly blackout every part of their car thinking it makes them look better or different. they all end up looking the same. this car definitively looks different. while many (including myself) would prefer some more performance based wheels. this guy made HIS car to HIS vision and not someone elses. I respect that
Even though I think that the '67 through '70 Mustangs had some of the best body lines of any muscle car, I think what you are doing is just flat out wicked. Why roll with something every one else has...you have to make it your own.
regardless of what everyone else says i think you have an awesome car the effort and work and time and money is worth every bit of this build and for you to share it with us is just wonderful. i love the car and in my OPINION the car is way better than anyone elses car that has posted hate comments towards you. we have a 69 mustang coupe and its nice but nowhere near as beutiful as this car will be when it is finished. good luck to you and your ride johnymustang beutiful car man
I love the car myself .when people talk off the wall they just wish it was there's nice car keep up the good work i wish you can post afer you completed the build
This is what I would like to see; all the junker cars that are in good shape to be restored cuz remember you can't build the car back then from scratch what's left of it you put it back together
i'm a car guy who have come to realise one thing about another guys custom car,jus learn to aspect it the way it is, cus guess wht theres nothing you can do to change it. it's his thing, lov it.so far so good jus needs to see the finish work.
yeap, completely agree with you. And one question, author made a big effort to install these massive rims to the back, how he is going to replace a tire in a road??? I think its rediculous
@kimberlysoccer14 Yep...they are directional tires (thus the tire pattern and little arrow on the side marking the direction)...and if I remember correctly they did mount them wrong to begin with (but didn't matter for the mock up stage)...nice catch though.
Is this project completed yet? I've been waiting for about 6 years to see another video but haven't seen any. I love everything about it so far, the stance is perfect and the rims look fine to me and they can easily be changed out if you ever get tired of them. I would prefer a 6spd myself but it's all about personal preference. I want to take a foxbody and modify the stance, I want the front to resemble the new ones (which resemble the ones from this generation), the new tail end look and I like the air scoops above the rear wheels. I've seen a foxbody with the front end of a 94-95 mustang on the cover of Fast Fords and Muscle Mustangs cover back in 1997 and I've seen a 94-97 mustang with a 2005 front end on it which gave me the idea but I don't want to just take a foxbody and cut off the front and add the new front end (I know it'll require a lot of work) but I want people to look at it from afar and recognize it's a foxbody but up close they see that it's been completely customized!
The funniest thing about all the hate comments is the rims actually aren't that big. They're probably 22"s, big is 24"s and up. most people leaving opinions can't afford the car or do the work anyway. Do what you want Johnny it's your dream not theirs.
I've been following this project since the beginning and I really would like to see some updates. Or did you put the project on hold? I'm really wanting to take my foxbody and put a 2010 mustang frontend on it and do the same with the back as you have. I know it's a lot of work getting all these different years/styles to work cohesively but I have the vision. But this dark horse project was my inspiration so I really need to see the rest of the project
The Low profile tyres may be a bit too much. A size or two higher might have also made the rims appear better. The proportions look a bit out because of the wheel/tyre combination. But, I guess it will work out for you just the way you want it. Nothing else matters!
The wheels are AWESOME!!! What are they and where can I get a set from? Those are some of the best looking Rims I have ever seen, especially on an early model.
Respect to the dream vision and hours and sweat that went into it. Rims are nice looking. I just don't like the rubber band tires. I tried that with my 68 went back to "15 x 8 magnums with wide 60 BF G's better ride and looks more beefy. Don' knock it till you try it. I tried it. So to each his own taste is the common denominator
those rims are beautiful. the design really match the muscle car.. but I am agree wih one of the comments here that the rims' size are too big.. but really, those rims are beautiful..
Whats good Johnny?! I'm one of the ghetto dwellers that most of those hideous comments about the great set of rims you have are being aimed at. Don't know if it's ignorance or racism but to each their own man. I think the car looks amazing and I hope you post a video of the finished product. Haters hate you because the're not you. Keep up the good work
Peter Burnett Well 677 people like the car so... as long as he has proper suspension and a spare tire that fits whats the problem? If people don't like it don't watch. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, if it's hot to him nobody else opinion matters.
Peter Burnett My opinion matters to you as you wasted 5 min to read and reply. You didn't turn a wrench or spark a weld so why belittle someone else's work? If your imagination is as plain as white paint and doesn't match his idea of what his classic should look like don't watch the mans work
Peter Burnett So you're old and unimaginative why are you still talking anyway's I though the conversation was over. Go troll on someone else's work. KEEP DOING YOUR THING JOHNNY! Some old school people know great work when they see regardless if it's retro modded or not.
He Johny what happend to this project, as I am owner of same year mustang interested in seeing more about this project, must say have also project which stalled for several years due to time and money issues, aware that this can happen, but as mentioned intrested to know what the status of the project is and if we can have more to see in future or that the project died.
the fast back 67 to 69 mustangs are the only stangs i like better than my 67 coupe. i dont intend to keep to much of my car stock. what powerplant and trans are you throwing in
I can't believe all this talk about how ugly the rims are. This is my favorite year Mustang model and I gotta say, those rims are perfect for it! Don't listen to all these nay-sayers. They're just jealous! Great job! By the way, I too am wondering what has happened to this project. Please give us an update. Thanks.
what style rims are they? i actually think they look pretty bad ass, a bit larger then i would go but hey its not my car. i would love a set of them for my 65 stang in 17"
Personally I despise mustangs and it may not be so much the cars fault as it is the owners. Now with that being said, this thing looks SICK! Wheels are dope too BTW. Keep doin what ur doin, the only person that car has to please is it's owner!
Man screw what people think 1st of all & to any idiot that affiliates rims size with the color of ones skin is obviously small in their head as well in their pants. That's y size is such a concern to them. Nice video. Keep doing what your doing.
Dude don't listen to the Haters i wanna see it when its done...by the hard work you guys are putting in it sure its gonna shine!! later fuck the haters!
Hello Mr Johnny, I have a 67 mustang and I would like to adjust the tires the way u adjust it in this video. How much it will coast me and where shall I send it to u? Do u have a garage in Texas?? Thanks and regards
nice to see someone blow the spirit back into a classic, just to throw in my opinion in the whole discusion about the rims - yes, they are a tad too big but they are NICE, so it evens out. cars aren't made this way anymore... and its a damn shame, id take a heavy old classic over a overpriced lambo piece of plastic any day
I'm 46 years old & been a car freak since I was 4 years old & been to drag races & world of wheels car shows & twice to Dallas autorama & lowrider super shows & even painted a black Grand National in Dallas that took 2nd place best paint job & currently working in street rod shop in Amarillo Tx & believe me your building something nice the hell with all the haters

I love the wheels tucked under the car. I would go black powercoat on them. Keep posting I am really interested in this build
Mark

Big rims only look goofy when the car is lifted. This set up looks good.
Good atleast there is someone on here who likes the wheels and has a sense of style. Good on ya.
regardless of what everyone else says i think you have an awesome car the effort and work and time and money is worth every bit of this build and for you to share it with us is just wonderful. i love the car and in my OPINION the car is way better than anyone elses car that has posted hate comments towards you. we have a 69 mustang coupe and its nice but nowhere near as beutiful as this car will be when it is finished. good luck to you and your ride johnymustang beutiful car man
Wauw! Nice choice of ride height! And greet job of making thid Mustang bakc to life!!!
Keep it up!
Greetings
I love the car myself .when people talk off the wall they just wish it was there's nice car keep up the good work i wish you can post afer you completed the build
i saw youre car profile this cars is amazing and you did a great job with all the custom fab amazing car
I like to see how it will look when it gets fully done I bet it will look awesome
That's a bad ass Mustang just the way it is , great job.
I'm okay with those rims on a muscle car like this, as long as they have class and style and doesn't look cheap.
Them rims look good on that car I like the back how wide they are.
I like the Rims.. It suits the Look the Owner was going for.
This is what I would like to see; all the junker cars that are in good shape to be restored cuz remember you can't build the car back then from scratch what's left of it you put it back together

Those rims contradict all the effort you put into the car.
I agree, makes it look like a cheap toy...too big!
These days people think bigger and more expensive is better.
yeap, completely agree with you. And one question, author made a big effort to install these massive rims to the back, how he is going to replace a tire in a road??? I think its rediculous
+Matt Greenland Its all about taste. I dont like em. He likes em.
this car is going to be bad ass when it is done
@kimberlysoccer14 Yep...they are directional tires (thus the tire pattern and little arrow on the side marking the direction)...and if I remember correctly they did mount them wrong to begin with (but didn't matter for the mock up stage)...nice catch though.

I see what your going after, the stance, large wheels, but i think you may want a smaller wheel and tire, just my opinion, good luck with project.
whaiting to see the AMAZING RESULT of this Monster Mustang...greetings.
i've been saying the same thing for years brother.
2 thumbs up for a sick 'Stang.

The wheels are AWESOME!!! What are they and where can I get a set from? Those are some of the best looking Rims I have ever seen, especially on an early model.
i think the wheels looks good it will b a bad ass looking car nice job

hope those rims wernt a big chunk of your bud jet because those body stylaes form the lat 60's especially the fast back model make any rim look good
Do you have a video of the finished project? I'd love to see it cherried out.
even tho the car is not painted i like it like that, just a perfect vie at 00:54
idk if anyone noticed, but the tread pattern on the back tires were going opposite ways..
the most perfect car i have ever seen
Looks great guys, keep up the Badassness!!!
those rims are beautiful. the design really match the muscle car.. but I am agree wih one of the comments here that the rims' size are too big..

Great start.. The car is siting sick..
the project isnt even done and already the car looks bad ass... keep it up. what size wheels you got in the back and in the front?
those big ass rims look like a circus act & whats with all the metal work inside some cars you've got to let be man...this is one of those cars
He Johny what happend to this project, as I am owner of same year mustang interested in seeing more about this project, must say have also project which stalled for several years due to time and money issues, aware that this can happen, but as mentioned intrested to know what the status of the project is and if we can have more to see in future or that the project died.

Beautiful rims for a muscle car.
That is what I am talking about! What size are those wheels?
Personally I despise mustangs and it may not be so much the cars fault as it is the owners. Now with that being said, this thing looks SICK! Wheels are dope too BTW. Keep doin what ur doin, the only person that car has to please is it's owner!

The wheels are Budnik Gassers
Thank god for this vid... I've been watching vids of nice cars like this going to shit because of some asshole throwing it to the side.

but thats what i think of it...
nice to see someone blow the spirit back into a classic, just to throw in my opinion in the whole discusion about the rims - yes, they are a tad too big but they are NICE, so it evens out.
cars aren't made this way anymore... and its a damn shame, id take a heavy old classic over a overpriced lambo piece of plastic any day
