  • Music video shot & directed by Kriv Stenders. Produced by Charles Amsden. Roo Art Records. 1989
"This was one of my very first music videos and a bit of a trial by fire. From memory I think I cut this myself on 16mm reversal film, on an old, wonky Steenbeck. Beofre the digital age a lot of clips were cut this way and it required a certain skill to maintain lip sync. I made a bit of hash of the whole job and it had to be fixed up in the final online. If you look at the tuba section you'll get an idea of my handiwork. We shot this in the original ABC TV Studios in King's Cross, Sydney in the same studio from which the first TV broadcast in Australia was transmitted in the 1950s. The clip was re-shot showing the band as a three-piece : • Video

Great song, 27 years later and it still sounds so fresh and original.

Hi, I'm from South Africa and this song played on a regional radio station back then, I was surprised they were Australian as she sings with a slight 'accent' that I could not place, and I have the vinyl record from 1989. And why does this not have more views.

I was an assistant engineer at Paradise Studio when this went down, one of my favourite voices ever.

Wow! This brings back fond memories of living in a big old share house & being a Martha's Vineyard groupie in the late 1980s. I'd forgotten about Jon Cope & the tuba part, and that great big acoustic bass of Norman's! I love that the band members have each moved on to fulfil their destinies in other ways: Norman managing bands; Anthony pursuing a life as Buddhist monk, Bhante Sujato, doing good works etc. Peggy's music now (I've bought her CDs) is different, but still beautiful & authentic.

Shame this song didn't get the recognition it deserved, great song, so much energy about it.

A great friend took me to see this band in Perth in the late 80's...they blew me away...I couldn't believe such talent was just 'lurking in the suburbs'. I still have the album & was listening to it tonight & thought I'd see if it was 'on line'. Many thanks for posting this...now I can share with others!

Was it realy 30 years ago? I remember this like it was only yesterday. Ah well a little knowledge for all who follow after me, Getting old is not the worst thing in this life, the worst thing is losing the simple child like wonder as we grow into serious adults, ;)

Is it just my imagination, or does the singer sound a lot like Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders?
