Teac A-2300SX Reel to Reel Tape Player Head Cleaning How to / DIY

- In this video, I'm going to share how I cleaned the play, record, and erase heads on a new-to-me Teac A-2300SX reel-to-reel tape player that I recently acquired off of facebook marketplace. The initial indicator that I need to clean my heads was the extremely muffled sound when I tried to record something on the tape that was included with the unit.

I have this exact reel to reel. I'm pretty sure I cleaned it this way after I bought it but the left channel sounds muffled now. i'm gonna give it a fresh cleaning to see if it clears up. Thanks for the video.
Don’t put alcohol on the rubber piece like i did. There’s a special product for that. Good luck!
Just cleaned it and it works like new. Gotta love old tech. Nowadays with technology you either have to throw it out or ship it out to be fixed.

Sorry for the confusion. I was learning, too. I ended up using a product called CaiKleen RBR.

Never clean the heads with the recorder turned on. Denatured alcohol is better to use than isopropyl alcohol. Edit: It does look like it might have been turned off.
can ı use printer head cleaner for tape head and pinch roller?
The only thing i would caution is to not use anything with alcohol on rubber. Everything else should be fair game.
