    Both are absolutely stunning. Hard to the the difference with the naked eye. Would love either one on a ring.

    Hi :) I love this channel so much! I lived 20 years in Ramat Gan. So, I enjoy a bit of gemmology, even if I only ever intend to buy one diamond and not for myself!
    You give us lots of details and explanations. I think even the most staunch "diamonds are just a piece of coal!" kinda people could be made interested by your presentations.
    BTW, I notice you don't upload as much this year - I have an idea: you should open a Patreon and get more engagement and reward from us, the viewers. I, for one, would be happy to pay for quality discussion about gems. Usually I have to pretend I am buying something :D
    You could show us some more of that ice (specific stuff like comparisons the audience wants to see) and answer Q&A, etc...
    I, for one, have a few questions :) I am designing an engagement ring for my girlfriend and I think I want a 4.5 or 5mm diamond but those are so much cheaper, that I think maybe a small diamond just doesn't show any brightness or fire?
    In any way, the ring I am designing is not solitaire - far from it - a 7mm diamond would never work... And my girlfriend was very explicit about not having to worry about a piece of jewellery that costs like a car :)

      Hi, we're glad that you like our channel. Your feedback is appreciated and you've offered a lot of great advice that we will consider! We have a few video's in store for this year. We've indeed slowed down production however because it's difficult to find the time to make the video's while assisting customers at the same time. Perhaps we should hire more employee's..
      A well cut 4.5mm diamond will show fire and appear bright, however the flash of light coming out of the diamond won't be as large in size compared to well cut larger diamonds since the facet's won't be as large.
      If you wanted a beautiful brilliant larger diamond without breaking the bank, have you considered lab grown diamonds?

      @@DiamondInfoMan it's not about getting the most size. The design is more about the ring and the diamond is just another feature.
      So, it's really a size limit. I think I can get up to 5.5 or even 6mm - if that provides a lot more flash?
      And yes, I am super interested in lab-grown :)

    What are the l-w ratio of these stones???

    • @DiamondInfoMan
      @DiamondInfoMan  Před 11 měsíci

      The diamond on the left has a ratio of 1.51. I no longer have the paperwork for the diamond on the right, but it looks like it has a slightly greater ratio in my opinion. My guess would be 1.58

      Hi. If it's a diamond you wanted us to cut, we can send it to our diamond cutter. If it's a gemstone you wanted to cut, we can send it to you lapidary. Unfortunately, we are not aware of anyone in Connecticut who performs those services although you might find one doing a Google search or something. If interested in having us perform the services for you, feel free to contact sales@goodoldgold.com with the details and we'll do our best to further assist.
