2025 Hyundai Exter Knight Edition: A Small Budget SUV Attempting to Look Cool

One year after launching the Hyundai Exter in India, the company has launched a new special edition of the entry-level SUV. The Hyundai Exter Knight, positioned as the lineup's new top trim, offers a dark motif inside and out.The compact SUV, like the Knight versions of other Hyundai cars, attempts to look edgy with a blacked-out treatment. The shown version is completed in Abyss Black, although owners can also choose Starry Night, Atlas White, Ranger Khaki, or Shadow Gray.The dark theme is enhanced by the black alloy wheels, badging, and skid plates, which make it difficult to see at night. In fact, the only colorful elements are the red trim pieces on the front bumper and tailgate, as well as the matching brake calipers.Inside, Hyundai designers went for a similar look, with black upholstery and a hint of crimson. The latter may be found on the dashboard, piping, and stitching, which distracts us from the rough plastics that dominate the inside.
The Hyundai Exter Knight is based on the high-end SX grade and comes standard with LED lights, an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen, a rearview camera, a wireless charging pad, six airbags, and a sunroof.
The Knight version of the Hyundai Exter is only available with a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter petrol engine that produces 82 horsepower (61 kW/83 PS) and 114 Nm (84 lb-ft) of torque. The mill is linked to a five-speed manual or automatic transmission, which sends power to the front axle. Lower-level versions of the i10-based SUV are also available with a bi-fuel powertrain option.
The Hyundai Exter Knight is now available for order in India, with prices ranging from Rs 8.38-10.43 lakh ($10,034-12,489) depending on configuration. This makes it only Rs 15,000 ($180) more expensive than the equivalent trims, making an appealing deal for Indian shoppers. The rival Tata Punch is also anticipated to receive a similar Dark Edition in the near future, while the similarly sized Nissan Magnite already has a Kuro Edition.
