I am white, my grandparents had 11 children. I have probably about a 100 first cousins. I grew up in an area predominantly very white (central Wisconsin). I can honestly say I never saw any racism from anyone around me. I talked to my mother once, and she said when she was a teenager, nobody cared about interracial dating. My experience in the 80s and 90s was we didn't focus on skin color at all. If we liked a person, we liked them and what a person looked like was irrelevant. We got close to MLK Jr.'s dream. Evil people in power could not have that. Now we're going backwards and it breaks my heart. I see the propaganda making both sides more radical and it shocks me but I have seen more BS from those who look like me in recent years to perpetuate the lie by reinforcing we are inherently evil... In simpler terms - it's a different form of oppression to tell one group they are inherently evil and expect those people to not get upset and resentful. It's causing way more problems instead of bringing people together.
