The Festival for all lovers of world music- Kista World Music Festival- turned 20 years old with a grand and sparkling celebration.
Despite the Corona Pandemia we managed to arrange the festival this year, although in a different shape, with a well curated program and an exiting artist´s line-up. The jubilée and 20th edition of the festival offered a festive inauguration at Kista square, mall and library, concerts, numerous children´s performances, lunch concert, dance workshop, meet the author and the new exiting concept SMAK: world music in Rostam Mirlashari´s kitchen.
SMAK is a series of get-togethers with different artists, traditions, cultures and music genres to be streamed live with a restricted audience in Årsta, Stockholm, and broadcasted. SMAK includes concerts, interviews, jams sessions, conversation and of course: cooking with numerous interesting artists based in Sweden but with origins from all over the world. Rostam Mirlashari, founder and producer of Kista World Music Festival, together with Liliana Zavala, conceptualist and co-producer of SMAK, Fredrik Gille, musician and photographer, Farhang´s staff and our collaborator presented a unique and locally produced program that well represents our 20th jubilée as well established organizers illuminating the multifaceted music stage in Sweden.
