  • This is a first edition (circa year 2000) Kyosho Inferno MP7.5. I remember looking through my first R/C Car Action magazine where I saw advertisements for this sweet 1/8 scale nitro buggy.
    I wanted it badly.
    Being a kid at the time there was no way I could afford its (then!) $475 kit price. This was an exotic R/C to me, and I didn't think it would ever be mine. Even still, I always kept an eye out for one. Twenty years later this buggy came up for sale used and I immediately clicked "BUY!". Talk about a childhood dream fulfilled! It even has the box art paint job. So cool.
    It is well outfitted with a proper ripper of an engine - an RB Concept .21 that appears to have been modified. Just listen to that sound! A nice inline polished pipe, digital servos, and front CVD axles make this quite the old school performer.
    I personally think the MP 7.5 is the best looking 1/8 scale buggy ever made. The body has sporty lines and a swoopy midship cockpit. With the wing being super set back, it has one of most elegant side profiles around.
    Kyosho has made countless iterations of the Inferno MP 7.5 over the years, including a few top-tier Kanaii variants. In fact, Kyosho still makes the Inferno MP 7.5 under the Ready-to-Run-spec guise called the Inferno NEO 3.0. But, to me, none are as great at the original kit-spec version from the early 2000s. You know you're looking at one when you see the gold anodized shock towers and silver radio plate. It's truly a special model indeed.

    Paint scheme from original MP-7.5 box art is the best looking body for a buggy ever. So nice. It says loudly Kyosho!

    There is definitely a place for the new breed of really great electrics, but frankly, a hot nitro is so much better! Always liked the Infernos.

    Inferno MP-7.5 is the reference for today's 1/8 buggies.
    There is something special about it.
    I took all the good stuff from it like shocks and steel bevel plus ping gears over to an Inferno Neo buggy.
    The Neo has reinforced plastics that are much harder like the Inferno MP9.

    I have love your car. I just brought an Inferno MP 7.5 sport from someone and was looking to replacing the engine. What engine would you recommend?

      Sorry, just saw this. If I were to go out and buy a new .21 nitro engine, it would be an O.S. Their 21XZ-B VII is great buggy engine, but it is on the pricier side. You won't have issues with an O.S. and that's worth the peace of mind.

    Do you have a general rule of thumb for suspension settings (i.e. 2 degrees negative camber up front and 2 degrees toe out in rear)? I don’t really know how to create more neutral handling. Would consider making a video on general rules for suspension settings? Thanks!!! Wawawewa!

      @back2newrc  Před 2 lety +1

      I don't really, other than the standard alignment settings in the manual. I've been looking around at chassis setup stations for 1/10 touring cars. It seems those chassis would benefit the most from a good custom alignment!

    I bought mine off ebay and it's gonna cost a whole lot of money to get it working, I found a cut wire and just found out how important it is, It's for the button to turn the Nitro Car On.
