smokeyfan - Hi...I’m back. So, I haven’t kept up with Toni’s career throughout the years, but in the last few days, I’ve had a chance to see some clips of the family’s reality show. Toni’s poised, intelligent, and articulate (as always), and also responsible and grateful for everything in her life, so I just wanna be clear about seeing and understanding all of her wonderful qualities. With regard to her and Face being a domestic pair, I’m simply seeing that objectively, HE at least knows what he wants and doesn’t want, and it’s not her. They’re GREAT together as working partners (despite some bickering thru the process), but hopefully you understand from your own experiences that clicking in one area of life doesn’t necessarily translate to ALL areas. I know of some other musicians who make incredible music together, and you’d think that they were all bff’s, but surprisingly, they NEVER hang out together, outside of their working relationship. Babyface knows everything about her. He knows all about her neuroses and insecurities, and if he were interested in being with someone with her ideologies and relationship requirements and all that, he would be or could be. It’s easy to care about someone without wanting or needing to be their domestic partner. Toni is extremely high-maintenance, emotionally and otherwise. Seeing footage of these two conversing about relationships doesn’t appear to me as if he wants to be a part of her world in that context.
Toni is very codependent. A man has to find her neediness to be a point of attraction, in order to want to be with her, day-to day.
LMAO how did you deduce any of this? Toni may be high maintenance (but so was Face's 2nd ex wife) but I don't see how she is needy or codependent. Babyface is more of an enigma but he obviously has some feelings for her as she for him. It is allege they had a relationship and lovechild and judging by their interaction, I can certainly believe that. It's strange that you you believe Babyface had all the control in the situation, as why they never had a proper relationship.

They have a LITERAL and quintessential Mars vs. Venus perspective on things (he being an Aries sun and she being a Libra sun).
Having a connection or chemistry doesn’t mean that people can be harmonious in a relationship. They already have a long-standing one, anyway. Whether they’re lovers and roommates, or simply have a platonic and symbiotic working relationship as muses to one another, a partnership is a partnership. Ask two entrepreneurs who are business partners. Whether or not sex is involved, two people share a certain dynamic that works or doesn’t work to varying degrees.
Based on your understanding and experience of relationships, combined with the video footage of them during the making of the album, you might arrive at the same conclusion I did.
I haven't seen any footage of them creating the LMD album save for a few cameos Babyface made on The Braxton Family Values. I have seen plenty of interviews that corresponded with the release of the album and they both seemed fine, with frienly affection an respect coming from both parties. Nothing untoward happened which made me think she has issues with boundaries or codependency (the latter of which I am well versed in, for the record). Can you elucidate (preferably with an example or anecdote) what made you infer she is codependent? I am not denying the possibility she is, I just personally never seen anything evidential and I have seen most, if not all, of their available interviews (jointly an separately).
smokeyfan - Hi...I’m back. So, I haven’t kept up with Toni’s career throughout the years, but in the last few days, I’ve had a chance to see some clips of the family’s reality show. Toni’s poised, intelligent, and articulate (as always), and also responsible and grateful for everything in her life, so I just wanna be clear about seeing and understanding all of her wonderful qualities. With regard to her and Face being a domestic pair, I’m simply seeing that objectively, HE at least knows what he wants and doesn’t want, and it’s not her. They’re GREAT together as working partners (despite some bickering thru the process), but hopefully you understand from your own experiences that clicking in one area of life doesn’t necessarily translate to ALL areas. I know of some other musicians who make incredible music together, and you’d think that they were all bff’s, but surprisingly, they NEVER hang out together, outside of their working relationship.
The highest form of love is to be able to meet people where they are and accept them unconditionally. I think that’s what these two have together. That said, they don’t see eye-to-eye on some very fundamental philosophies regarding life and relationships, but at least on Face’s part, he’s not trying to change her...he allows her to be who she is, and she knows that.
Toni, self-admittedly, has some work to do in the self-love department. It’s a double-edged sword to be so naturally charming, magnetic, and lovable because that Libran quality also tends to want EVERYONE to love them. They know they can enchant people, but ultimately there’s everyday reality, where mundane decisions take place. In a real relationship, compatibility matters (and unless you THRIVE on drama, it’s not fun to be fighting all the time)...doesn’t matter how good you look with someone, or how hot the chemistry is. I mean, is it really that hard or rare to have chemistry with someone? You can be a pheromonal match with someone you can’t even stand or have a single thing in common with.
This might change with time, depending on how hard she works on herself, but unless she stops relying on others to make her happy (i.e., overcomes codependence), she won’t be able to have an emotionally-healthy relationship. She loves the drama and intensity of being in love (she LOOOOOOVES love, again, being quintessentially Libran), but unless she can find ways to have those emotions and sensations independent of others, she’ll always find EXTERNAL reasons why things aren’t right. We have no control over others, if they want to exercise their free will, so peace and joy have to be states we can experience on our own.
That’s when we can have grown-up love. 💕
Let’s remember that as entertainers, it’s their JOB (if they’re any good at it) to put on a show for their audience and make their love & chemistry believable. It’s there, naturally, but especially on Toni’s part, she knows she’s playing a role and enhancing the emotions on her face and in her posture when they’re on the stage.

While I don't agree with your centra thesis (which is that Babyface doesn't want Toni) there are some things that I do agree with (especially your analysis on Toni's relationship patterns and need for self work). I can send you loads of clips countering the ones you sent but it would probably be futile since you seem dogmatic about your opinion (but I'll still send a few). I will point out that in the Arseio interview his body language is a good example of what I suggest is his attraction to her. He repeatedly licked his lips while listening to her and was grinning like a Chesire cat when she was talking about not wearing underwear in their first performance together. He eyed her up and down just 20 seconds after your timestamp as he talked about watching her grow into an amazing woman. I know men and that is not the behavior of a disinterested or even apathetic man. There are literally dozens of videos where you can see this attraction isn't a one way street. The most plausible reason why they aren't together today is that they've never really been single at the same time. Notwithstanding the timing issues, I wholly think they have been intimate in the past. Her first son looks like his twin so make of that what you will.
