If you’ve paid attention to the news, you would not that Bolshunov had an injury to his leg because of a bike crash and also had two jaw surgeries in October. He hasn’t had optimal training. Whereas Klæbo hasn’t had any issues. It’ll take time for Bolshunov to get to solid form.
@@davd1986 Didn't know that. He's still not up to speed then. I think that Klaebo has raised his game as far as distant skiing is concerned- he's not just a sprinter any longer.
@@davd1986 That bike crash was Bolshunov's own fault. Diggins on the other hand lost the TDS after being injured in the sprint competition through no fault of her own. Yet she never puts blame on other people.
@@martinsundland7614 Bolshunov had no fractures from the bike crash, but his achilles was hurting. A lot of skiers fall in the off season training, and bruises themself...but if it is no fractures they can go on do the training. Maybe they have to do some alternative training, like Moseby had to do with his fracture of the sacrum. And he showed everyone that you can still be one of the best even when you have been through a fracture that kept him from walking, running or go on ski. He had to start swimming as training and managed to be one of the best norwegian skiers in the opening race. Bolshunov underwent a upper jaw surgery in october. But as far as I know he is not skiing with his jaw :D If Klæbo are able to go away from Niskanen in classic race, he can go away from Bolshunov too. Bolshunov is not better than Niskanen in classic races.
