Jimi's rendition of Villanova Junction at Woodstock is the most beautiful thing ever played on an electric guitar! EPIC! ✌️

They say this is the exact moment where jimi morphs into his next form, god knows what jams could have been born had he not died in 70'

No musician moves me more than Jimi did. A genius.

One of the most legendary performances in history and also so slept on. The improvisation shows his real musical genius. He could just let whole songs flow out of him. Insane.

When i first heard this improvisation so many years ago l then understood that there are levels of musical virtuosity and God knows who is Jimi Hendrix?, that he should be at the tenth level where the soul connects to the epitome.

This version of Villanova is probably my favorite JimiSong. Listen to it a few hundred times and discover the “subtle complexities”
How much do I like it?
It’s the wake up alarm on my phone

Absolutely mastery at the highest level, total emotion, no gimmicks, just in complete control of his guitar and rig, the guitar is just another appendage of him.

Liked your simple honest reaction to this. To much analysis spoils it.
Jimi in absolute flow. Woodstock Improvisation is one of his greatest performances. Really shows what he was capable of at the drop of a feather. Villanueva Junction is his American Indian side coming out.

Outstanding. As I am 70 years old, this brings back great memories. So few people are aware of this and appreciate it. Thank you.

Jimi showed his love for Wes Montgomery and Segovia but most of all John Coltrane. He often referred to himself as Public Saxophone

Jimmy's father, Al, played sax, if that has anything to do with his "Public Saxophone" sentiment. ..."if my daddy could see me now"...🎸

"Yeah. That's what we don't wanna hear any more" ... "I'm the one thats gonna die when it's time for me to die. So let me live my life, the way I want to"..."I'll meet you on the next one. So don't be late"..."We're gonna travel 'cross Venus sun"...You don't neeeeed more than that.

Great reaction, bro. This was Hendrix at his pinnacle of his playing! No words can explain the artistry. My only question to you is, how in the whole F did you get to react to this video here on CZcams??? This video isn't on CZcams, no?

Never knew if "Villanova Junction" was a Hendrix composition or if he was covering someone else's song.

I was pretty impressed back when I was twelve when this came out but now not so much. I didn't care for the "chords" segment where it sounded like he was searching for something and not finding it at all. It picked up again when he went into the Wes Montgomery style octaves though. He was a pioneer leading the way and came up with a lot of great tunes and sounded ahead of his time.

Who else can reproduce this live? Can you? Iv'e never seen or heard anyone improvise like this with such ease and in control of it all from beginning to end.
