James Marshall "Jimi" Hendrix was an American guitarist, songwriter and singer. Although his mainstream career spanned only four years, he is widely regarded as the greatest and one of the most influential guitarists of all time.

No musician moves me more than Jimi did. A genius.
One of the most legendary performances in history and also so slept on. The improvisation shows his real musical genius. He could just let whole songs flow out of him. Insane.
When i first heard this improvisation so many years ago l then understood that there are levels of musical virtuosity and God knows who is Jimi Hendrix?, that he should be at the tenth level where the soul connects to the epitome.

Jimi in absolute flow. Woodstock Improvisation is one of his greatest performances. Really shows what he was capable of at the drop of a feather. Villanueva Junction is his American Indian side coming out.
Outstanding. As I am 70 years old, this brings back great memories. So few people are aware of this and appreciate it. Thank you.

I was pretty impressed back when I was twelve when this came out but now not so much. I didn't care for the "chords" segment where it sounded like he was searching for something and not finding it at all. It picked up again when he went into the Wes Montgomery style octaves though. He was a pioneer leading the way and came up with a lot of great tunes and sounded ahead of his time.
Who else can reproduce this live? Can you? Iv'e never seen or heard anyone improvise like this with such ease and in control of it all from beginning to end.
