This video is soothing to me! I just purchased my first home and am so excited to move in. I’m a minimalist and my boyfriend moved up here fairly recently so we basically get to start fresh with furniture and design. I like that you have a large home but keep it minimal. This is what I’m going for.

I like your informal living area as it has some knick-knacks which warm up the room and make it look more personal. the other rooms look unlived in and a bit cold. You said you were going to gut the kitchen and I think the kitchen you have now is really nice, the invisible table is great and I bet it is easy to clean. I love your little dog. thank you for sharing
I love the informal living room too! but it’s funny - the Knick knacks bother me slightly, the feel messy or something, but I do fully appreciate that everyone has different taste and style and that’s what makes us unique ☺️ yes haha the invisible table is easy to clean

Me! I am like that. I admit my decor is not quite as minimal as yours BUT I rather have nothing on my walls than something I either don't like or just something to fill space. That's why most of my walls that do have something on them are mirrors. I can tolerate a mirror. I love your style/home. I can't wait to see it evolve.

House is nice. You have a nice taste in furniture. I agree with the kitchen reno. Don't know why but the curved counter where the sink is is dated and never cared for that look. I like that you painted the island black which gave it a more contrast.

I don't like anything on my walls either. The only time I realize how different I am compared to others, is when I go to someone's house and see their walls! I always think it looks great and will say I will add something. But I am extremely picky and frugal. I don't want to do something and hate it down the road, which is what I happened when I purchased this last house. Now I'm replacing big pieces, which means I wasted money!

With 4 kiddos 1-8, a dog and a husband, I think I need to go this super minimalist vibe. I HATE clutter and things. Especially small little things everywhere and walls full of stuff. I am definitely anti wall galleries. I’m more organic modern. I just learned that’s what my style is called. This minimalist vibe will be perfect.
I showed that house when it was for sale back a few years ago (it was over-priced at that time and my buyers decided on another home). I remember loving that wood island in the kitchen but thinking the header over the upper cabinets needed to go and 42" ones needed to be installed. That pantry is to die for! I LOVE the staircase and would never have thought of redoing that? Has me eyeing mine own staircase and thinking about re-doing it now.

And I know neutrals are just so calming! We did just added a neutral pink curtains to our nursery and I couldn’t decide if I liked them haha was not use to color! But they’re growing on me and we definitely need some pink in there ☺️

Oh dang... one thing with the handles... I love them but when baby gets to that level it’s so much easier for them to open doors with the lever handles than the round ones. But they are beautiful.

Funny thing about your blank canvas, I have a gallery wall of 9 black frames that are empty. They are matted, but no picture or art. I keep saying I will find 9 pieces to go in eventually, that was 3 years ago!

@@syl1382 I love it so far! Hobbs has been on the couch daily and it still looks good. His hairs blend into the slight texture that’s in the fabric. We also do plan to clean it, just to keep it lasting long! I don’t have kids yet, but I definitely feel better about this fabric than a pure white couch (which I would love!). Rug is doing well so far! Only had it about a month and still looks great 🖤
