Your van build is gorgeous and so functional! I think you were smart not to add a lot of decor to the van. That will allow you to find pieces that you love from your travels and add them to the van at your leisure! It is so sad to fall in love with a beautiful little something but have no space to put it!
Thank you so much, we really built it to what we thought we would need and it’s ended up perfect! 🚐 And you’re so right, I’m sure we’re going to come across some beautiful pieces on the road that mean a lot more than if we had rushed to find things before setting out on the lap. 😊
I’ve seen many van conversion reviews and this is by far the best one. Amazing layout and plenty of storage while still having room to move around. I don’t usually leave comments, but I am very impressed. Great job guys!

Your build came out pretty incredible... I mean, it is utterly GORGEOUS. Not sure if Wehan is an electrician/wood craftsman or just a natural genius, but I did get lost on the electrical/inverter/yadda yadda stuff- I wish so much that my brain could understand it since I will be building out a Promaster soon. Anyway, thank you for sharing - so inspiring! Seriously, your van is beautiful!! I think you showed everything but where all your clean clothes are stored. I have so many clothes, I can't imagine sharing that kind of space with another with the amount I have, lol
Wow thank you so much, that really means a lot 💙 The van definitely exceeded our expectations and despite the stresses of the build we're now very glad we did it and wouldn't have it any other way!
To be honest, he's just a natural genius (but don't tell him I said that 🤣). I definitely get lost with the electrical side of things too so don't worry you're not the only one. If it was up to Wehan he would have rambled about it for hours!

I designed my 3500 Promaster last year, and trust me, you will learn your electrical system like the back of your hand because in order to do this, you have to do that, but if you want to do that, you must do the other. Lol. I was intimidated at first, but after living with it, you truly get to a point in which you really understand it. Good luck with your build. 😊

Love it. Totally the most efficient way to power anything that can take DC.
I turn on my inverter for the microwave, the induction cooktop, and things that aren't used often so they did not make my mental list.
Thank you so much! The DC2DC chargers are great. Especially with some of the vans having such capable alternators. It’s also nice not having to rely on the weather or campsites to be ideal for solar charging. 😅
Another great option would’ve been a supplementary alternator for the house battery but the pricing on the DC2DC chargers were much more appealing (at the time of purchase) and some of these vans have such capable alternators from factory.
This is one of my fav van conversions ive seen its super simple but everything serves a purpose and the colour choices are great! i think if i where ever to do a van it would be very similar.

He reminds me of my brother- super intelligent, slightly obsessive compulsive, and takes pride in efficiency and organization. I love the organization of it all and the inventory list on the notes is absolutely something I’d do.

I’ve seen alot of van builds over multi countries. But this 1 is absolutely perfect. Every thought, every detail, cost cutting that makes ton of sense, I love it.
Only thing I think I’d add would be a small window between the kitchen sink & work area. An make the shower just a little bigger. Other than that I wouldn’t change a thing. An you 2 need now is some home touch’s, plants, pictures. You 2 are awesome, look forward to more video’s, so glad I came across this 1.

Such a lovely & airy interior. This is a functional and creative floor plan...lots of storage and room for everything!!! Oh, and I LOVE the coffee bar. Having dedicated spaces in small areas (like vans) makes such a difference in being able to organize. "A place for everything and everything in its place," sort of thing. Really well done and very special 😊😊

This is such an excellent build! I have planned the same thing as far as colors go. White. Because you can go in any direction from there, even change it if the mood strikes by changing the fabrics. I would NOT worry about art or decoration on any of the walls. You are just starting your journey and there is going to be an amazing shot that you love so much and have to enlarge it, so many magical moments that you want to remember that you will find after a few years that you are running out of wall space. So be picky, even now, about what you allow to go up and stay with you. That’s my opinion, anyway. It’s kind of like when you got your first wallet or purse and you looked around to find things to put in it, but later you realize that necessary things would pop up and filling it was not really a concern. Not over-filling it quickly becomes the priority. Try to resist the temptation to pick up anything that needs a flat surface to sit on, unless you are into tiny things that can live in a shadow box on a wall. IMHO, anyway.

Your van is absolutely gorgeous. The set up is perfect. I've look at a lot of van conversions and y'our van is the best. I'd love my van to be set up just like this with one thing added, washer/dryer combo. Just my preference. Great job guys.

The bug screen is the Pillar Link Screen Pleated Flyscreen Door from Bunnings. Just noting however that they do say that the width is adjustable but the height isn’t. It was a lot of effort to adjust the height but Wehan managed to figure it out for us, which I’m super grateful for as we love it. But it required cutting the channels, removing linkages and re-tensioning the pulleys.
Wow….. what an amazing conversion van. Your build is so beautiful. In fact… It’s so beautiful I would love to have the design plans. I have been watching Skoolie conversions for about 3 years now. I am almost 70… finally I decided a bus is too big, but your Beautiful conversion van would be perfect. I can’t go full time but the times I do go I want it to feel like home. Lydia and Wehan…. He really just did them for himself thinking no one would ever see them and he'd never have to use them again haha. I'll reach back out again once we've got them up 😊
Are you liking your square edged drawer/cabinet pulls, or do you find yourself bumping on them? Did you use 5 1/2"?
We were a little worried that would be the case but we’ve had no issues at all and we love them! The ‘hallway’ section in the middle though is pretty spacious in our van, if it was a tight squeeze in the middle it might be a different story. Absolutely lovely build! What are the orange "recovery tracks"? Are they to get the van out of deep snow?
Thank you! We have the Maxtrax recovery tracks as a 'just in case' if we do get stuck in dirt, sand or snow. They're really popular in Australia in the 4WD community to gain traction and get out of a messy situation... thankfully we haven't had to use them yet 😅

Nice clean design you guys did alright with it. I like the all white but I also like the wood look too I've seen in other vans of that type. It's all in taste I guess but it is brighter on the inside not sure if it's bigger going with white. overall 👍

I have two questions about your amazing bathroom: what did you cover the shower walls with (is this tile!?), and do you remove the toilet when you want to use the shower? Nope we didn't use tile, we used wet wall panels that have a tile look (which we love!). I don't think you'll have a Bunnings in San Diego but we got the 'Wall Art New York White Tile Wet Area Wall/Shower Panel' from a hardware store in Australia called Bunnings.
We put together a full list of everything we used in the build and where we bought it from on our website which I'll link in case you wanted to check anything else out: lydiaandwehan.com/our-full-van-setup/.
Also we can remove the toilet while we shower if we want to. If we're having a quick shower we usually don't bother but if we're having a longer shower and want some more room we take it out.

If you wish to get rid of any shine on surfaces, get yourself a circular polarizing filter for your camera, you can cut down any reflections and really improve the color, works wonders on blue skies as well, just think of putting your sunglasses over your lens, if you have enough light, those filters are AWESOME!
