By now, I've seen all of season 2. I assume you have as well. But remembering what I thought at the time: if you recall how we left of with Jamie when he initially returned to Man City in season 1, Ted was reaching him, he was growing as a person. Rebecca just short-circuited that (back when she was still trying to run the team into the ground). SO I absolutely wanted him back, and I was confident that the Ted and the team would have a positive impact on him.
I *did* think that bringing him back without explaining to Sam specifically, really the team in general, that you had changed your mind, and why you did, was a poor decision. But the show just blows right past it, so... maybe we're supposed to assume he let them know before he did it so that Sam didn't feel lied to?
