  • Tyvek paper- Textile Art- Mixed Media-Altered Art-Three Dimensional- Artwork Project
Bonding Tyvek, Angelina Fiber, Fantasy Film using embossing powder, but not in a powder form. The embossing powder works best when pre melted and harden than broken down into smaller pieces.
This is my share with another way of using these fibers to play with in your art and crafting projects.
I cut the Tyvek paper into smaller pieces and use the melting pot to heat shrink the paper; the temperature control gauge will help to control the amount of heat I use. The heat gun I own, only has one control setting so it heats up the paper too fast, I find the melting pot or a low heating element, works best to get the most bubbles forming on the paper and will help not to shrink down too fast. The Tyvek paper will shrink into nothing if it gets too hot.
Painting the Tyvek paper- I find it works well with all the inks, sprays and paint I have used on it.
Material Used- Tyvek paper, Angelina Fiber, Fantasy Film, Embossing Powder
The tools needed are: Melting Pot or a low temperature heat element, embossing powder, a wood block, or marble block to flatten paper when removing from heat and flattening paper. A ceramic tile or weight like what I used to work with the block to flatten piece. I like the end of the crochet needle because the round flat head on the other end, helps to push the embossing nugget and all the fibers together over the heat. Pair of tweezers or long nose pliers will keep the paper from melting in areas where you need to lift paper easily.
I hope you enjoy watching the video and if you like it, subscribe to my channel. Take care and give this project a try if you have all the items and have fun playing.

Love all the colors you have going. The materials are very interesting. Do you buy the Tyvek in sheets? The beads are really nice. Imagine very light weight? Very interesting process. Have a great week Tita.

Tita, so good to see you. This tyvek is like paper, and comes in different GMS (Grams per square meter) which refers to the weight of the paper. Because of this reason, some bubbles formed on the paper will come out harder after the heat because of this thickness. I will send you examples of what I mean later, after I get these projects finished. The finished wire wrapped tyvek are light weight. The weight of the beads you use will make them heavier. I try to use light weight beads or vintage beads from my crafting jars. I do not use my good beads on this crafting project. See you around Tita. Love you.

Love your Tyvek projects! Did you mention what temperature to use in the melting pot?
