The most popular NFT strategy explained

- Today I want to discuss one of the most common (yet simple) strategies for finding NFTs with long term value. We've seen it used for cryptopunks, NBA Top Shot, Blankos Block Party, VeVe etc.
You see NFTs are new but collecting is not, and as a result one of the most dominant strategies within the NFT space comes from more old school collecting (stamps, comics, baseball cards etc). I don't know if there's an official term for it, it comes in many variations but it follows a general pattern: investors put a lot of weight on collectibles that came "first" or that were at least an earlier version of something. With books it's called First Editions, with comics and cards it's called serial numbers and issue numbers, and it takes many other forms within the NFT space which I discuss in this video.
We can see the premium on "firstness" applied at many levels for NFTs.
There's the blockchain level, where there's a current debate going on in terms of which was THE FIRST NFT (some say cryptopunks, others say Curio Cards, and there are several others that make the same claim). But basically any NFT that can make a claim at being the first to do something in crypto gets an instant price boost.
Then you have the platform level which is riskier because platforms have a lower chance of surviving longterm compared to blockchains, but a great example of this is the Chromie Squiggle collection which was the first minted on the Art Blocks platform and which has been getting a lot of love from investors as a result.
And finally you have the collection level, so things such as low serial numbers or low mints within a collection. What we know is that the more utility an NFT collection has, the less emphasis is placed on something like "firstness". So it makes more sense for art than it does for a cash flow producing NFT within a game, because with the latter you get a more objective way to price things.
However, when it comes to avatar collections it's still unclear how much weight investors place on low mint counts. Until now most of the attention has gone towards rare traits, mainly because of how avatar NFTs are showcased (I explain in the video), but this could change in the future and if it does it could mean that certain low mint NFTs are undervalued today.
All in all, this is a simplistic (and arguably silly) strategy that has been a go to for investors in alternative assets that have little to no intrinsic value (art, collectibles, etc). You can choose to not follow it at all, but it's good for newbies to understand it because it tends to have a big impact on prices.

Hey all just FYI I saw scammers in the comments with my name recently. I WILL NEVER ASK YOU TO TEXT ME OR TO GIVE ME YOUR NUMBER.
this is how you know that you’ve made it up there! hahaha
Hey! Love how you present information. Wanted to connect about a potential partnership. Anyway we can connect on IG/Twitter/email?
@@vasiamakris7812 hi you can reach out on Twitter, link in the description
Hey this was recent discovered. It a contract from 2015 that minted 4000 Nfts that have messages. Its called Terra Nullius V2. Where would this fall under first nfts. Eventually more valuable that curio cards or cryptopunks? I thought I would see this on the spreadsheet. Would love to see you make a video on this topic.
This channel needs to blow up. Heaps of information without the BS you get elsewhere. Keep it coming brother!
Nicely presented in a clear and simplified fashion.
Please I need someone to help me trade or invest the forex or crypto market because I'm tired of trading in losses myself. I've blown my account twice and it's frustrating.
I will always recommend Expert Naomi to anyone who wishes to invest in forex/crypto trading, her strategy is working for me. I'm making good profits from bitcoin trading

Thanks for Sharing
Really appreciate your content, bro! Kudos
Appreciate that
Thanks for giving credit on my spreadsheet. Let me know if you want to do an interview.
Great video for people new to the NFT scene!
I like the squiggles. They remind me of the 90s
Great video Giancarlo! 👏🏼👏🏼
ty sir!
Could you record a video for us that looks specifically at research. How to research a project, what to look for, where to find the information, what's the process from start to finish, how is the data stored if indeed it is? How to run analysis on crypto prices etc.
Underrated creator
thanks man
Great video! I'm an NFT artist and I appreciate you sharing what you look for in NFTs as an investor. Have you considered purchasing NFTs from artists collections? What would you look for in an artist to consider investing in their work?
hey bro love your videos so much! Which curio cards do you think are the best to invest in?
Thanks! I got #1 #2 and #3. One of the best parts is that due to this project being so old there are a lot of “dead wallets” holding #1 for example, so real supply is lower than what OS says.
@@giancarlobuystokens so cool I’m buying one now! If you haven’t watched the founder interview on NFTcultures channel it’s really good! The story about number 17 and 23 is also really interesting and may add value
more nft content!!!!!! lol ty bro keep it up
eat sleep nfts lol
Nice alien homeboy
Love your videos.
Hey Giancarlo, ru still holding your Curio Cards? I bought one for 0.5eth a few days ago but got slight doubt lol. Curious to hear what your thoughts are!?
I am still holding the apple - it's a long term play for me, hype for projects will come and go but the chronology of NFTs is fixed and I think collectors will care about that. nfa of course
Giancarlo NFT when
Hi, loved the video. I had a couple of questions. So you're thinking about buying an nft off the floor. It has a large twitter and discord following and the volume is high in comparison to the floor price. Will this NFT definitely go up in the short term and the long term? Is there still chance in this? How can we narrow the level of risk down as far as we can?
no it won't definitely go up in the short term, still very risky and you have to consider more factors. watch my video "How I KEEP picking NFTs that 10x (full strategy revealed)" for more info on that.
you make really good content
Can i buy NFT's on the grand exchange
2nd comment, keep it up
I went to Wayne Hills
this video was so useful ,thank you!could you please make a video on the most popular SELLING strategies for creators of nfts collections ?
great videos - new sub here, really like the vids. Just wondering... what site do u think is best for providing news about crypto (NFT focused), and articles explain different aspects to the NFT universe?
maybe decrypt but they're just reporting what was discovered on twitter 24 hours before. tbh I read 0 articles on NFTs from traditional media.
What are your thoughts on cardano nfts? Like spacebudz the first nft project there
does the consensus agree that spacebudz are the first? I've heard cardano kidz mentioned as the first but haven't looked too deeply. If spacebudz really are the first then I like that buy, might take a look for myself.
What artists are atm your favorites?
Would it be possible to get your thoughts on Spores Network? I think it could be the number 1 NFT marketplace in the cardano ecosystem.
Pls make a video on alice it is a gaming nft after axs i am bot able to find any good vdo on alice i am hoping that u can make a vdo on it
Would like to get in contact with you about guest spot on a podcast. Where should I reach out?
I got into gala and illuvium thanks to you!
Any more gaming nft project on your target?
I'm actually looking into gala games right now, what's your favorite game of theirs?
@@giancarlobuystokens mirandus hands down if they deliver on what they promise. it will change the game
can you review MIST NFT game? 🙏
Not really relevant to this particular video, but just a curious question.. In terms of utility of NFT, what are you most interested in? Metaverse, P2E games, Short animated series, Mechandise or something else? If it's metaverse, What kind of things in Metaverse interests you?
how does current popular NFT games, or NFT games in general fit into this framework...
depends on the game. if it's a cosmetic item then serial number/chronological order will still come into play like with skins in blankos block party. if the NFT has a lot of utility, like say an Axie in Axie Infinity that does well in battles, then it's less relevant.
what you didn't know is that Ancient astrology involved a lot of maths. 🤧
Bro, why nobody is talking about the BINANCE NFT marketplace? I have seen GIF Crypto Punks sold on juicy amounts, could you please review and let me know?
going to talk a bit about this in my next video
TheDogePoundNFT ,last w33k floor pric3 was 0.2eth ,today 0.7 eth
yes almost all the avatar collections are up big this week, check opensea rankings
Hey what are some NFT's that offered drops to people who held more then 3 for example? I know I've seen this before I just can't remember what they were called
What's the difference in value between dropping NFT projects that the buyer can choose what to buy versus bundling the NFTs into packs?
do you mean in packs where you don't know how rare the NFT is that you're going to get? from the buyers perspective you get the extra value of gambling for a super rare NFT, because the mint price is fixed regardless of what you get, whereas on the secondary market like open sea you no longer have that potential, you see what you get.
this might mean there's more initial demand for the random pack drops because it's basically a slot machine.
Hey there!
Could you please rate Evaverse Nft?????
Your videos are so insightful!
cryptopunks are generative
Great video. Guess you rich from curio now.
Love that shoutout at 05:08 to Pornhub 😂
Didn’t even see that LOL
Dude illiuvium exploding as you said ! Please do more nft coin reviews like on illiuvium coin just with lower mc
Zed Run
Hi, if I sell an art nft. Does the person who bought the nft also own the actual physical painting?
Hey man , please check out altura nft heard their dynamic/smart nfts are a game changer but i got no idea how to check if it's a strong and legit project so would be super nice if you do check it out
Why would you want to show off your serial number on Social media.
bruh you kinda look like JFK
loll that’s a new one
So why invest crypto in the first place?
because all signs point to it being massive in the future
You didn't even touched the most lucrative, important and promising NFT market, which is gaming's NFTs...
I mentioned blankos block party. the reason I don't mention others is because this specific strategy is less relevant when the NFT has more utility and in most games you're buying an NFT with utility.
@@giancarlobuystokens Ok, that's a good reason. I enjoyed your content tho. Thanks for the feedback
say the guy who dont have the money for buy a good phone or camera for the record.
it is the "perceived value" that you are referring to ... what the market will pay for a certain property based on emotional or nostalgic appeal. but all of this comes down to: something is ONLY worth what the market is willing to pay for it, at any given time. So all these absurd resale "floor value"'s that idiots set at 1000 ADA or something on a MOB nft means nothing, if 48 out of the 100 produced are sitting on the marketplace platform, untouched, till the prices align with the market's "perceived value" of the offerings.
Pro Tip: Just buy ETH and BTC. Fuck NFTs. You'll lose a lot if this bubble pops and you're holding dog shit.
Your videos are really inspiring and fantastic. I think you should consider having telegram or discord group for all of us community members here.
Thanks - I’m considering it for sure
