Most people wash their motorcycle, scooter or car with hair shampoo, cloth detergent or dish soap. By doing this your motorcycle or scooter paint color will fade out over the time. Some people wash their bike daily while some wash after months, both the habits are wrong. You might be tempted to use whatever soap you have around the house to wash your bike instead of buying automotive soap, but this isn’t a good idea. Dish soap is highly alkaline, made to cut grease - but it will obliterate any coating of wax you have on your bike too. Hand soap and body wash has moisturizers that will leave a greasy film on your bike.
You should always use bike washing shampoo or washing liquid for washing your bike.

Thanks bhaiya, quite informative. Could you tell me another thing?. Some bikers fix a mud flap dangling under the leg guard to resist muddy water splashing under the lower part of the bike. But this flap also arrest air to flow across the lower part of the bike engine. On the other hand the lower portion of a bike gets extremely muddy without the mud flap. The thick accumulation of mud under the lower part of the engine resist heat exchange to a great extent. So, what is advisable, fixing or not fixing a mud flap. Waiting for your reply or for a blog on the above issue. Thanks once again.
