Her feelings resonate so much. I love that she speaks openly about her feelings and that she is surrounded by family and people who honestly support her. With so many other Kpop artists keeping things in, I hope they see this and find the strength to find the support and help they need. This is giving the same vibes as when Jackson was on the show. They both are very good at articulating the feeling of everyone praising you for your achievements, but at the end of the day still feeling alone and not living up to their real potential. Hope you both find your inner piece through your art!
I was about to say the same thing. Its like the Jackson interview all over again. Eric just has a way of people feeling comfortable around him and they just spill it out.
I thought of Jackson too while watching this. However during his episode, I kept thinking he shares alot of the same issues that RM has. I would love it if Eric hosted a podcast series and had Jackson and RM on together discussing mental health. It seems like it's a taboo topic in Korea. I really felt like Eric was Jackson's therapist. This episode with Jessi seems like she needs a break from music. Take a long vacation to find herself. She wants to do everything but no idea where to start. She needs time to self reflect away from her career and focus on what makes her happy. Then reevaluate what direction she wants to go in.

I love that Eric, Daebak show, and Dive studios is a safe space for Jessi because she needs it. Absolutely love her, and excited for any and everything she’s working towards.
I have not cried in a while. This podcast touched a part of me I did not think it would. Her talking about feeling empty, wanting to find her craft, and wanting to show the vulnerable side to parents.
Also, this is not the first person I have seen talk about their toughest time was during the peak of their career (for different and similar reasons)

I can relate to Jessi because I went through something similar recently I'm 37 now but when I turned 34 I was depressed, had to cut off toxic people and family members and finally put myself first started taking care of my mental health and physical health, upped the vitamin D, changed jobs. Its tough but I finally feel free, do anything you want jess! 🙌🏽
I'm 34 and going through the same thing at this moment.
And this is why I love Jessi. Raw, HONEST and vulnerable as I've ever seen her. So proud of her. Also, Eric did amazing by creating a safe space for her to be so open. What a beautiful interview

I feel like Jessi went trough some trauma recently and she is picking herself up, thus looking around for what would make her happy after that hurt...
and she is so effing strong for articulating it this way.. i did the same thing after 3 family members died within short period of time, I know that speaking about it helped so immensely.

I’m glad she was able to speak about how she’s feeling mentally. You can tell she’s going through some hard things right now with the things she said. Jessi, I use to be like you when it came to friends. I put my heart into it bc I truly believed in everlasting friendships but never received what I put out. As I got older and becoming a mom, I realized some friends are "Ask-holes" and only need you for things or waste your time by asking endless things and doing anything about it.. So, I cut it down to just 1 friend bc I saw how she put in effort and gave back what I put out. To this day, she and I are the best of friends. We give each other space, check in and we both respect each others differences bc we understand that friendship too is a relationship. So one day, you will find the one or two gal pals that you need in your life and that's more than a handful of acquaintances that serve no purpose. Overall, take this time to love yourself and those who want to love you take care and love on you.

I really hope she finds what she needs to feel fulfilled and happy. It's hard to not fit the standard and be outside the norm but it's so freeing when you find peace with it. You'll find the way, just keep being honest and vulnerable with yourself.

The first time I saw Jessi years ago was in some variety show, and I immediately knew she was a not a natural loud and outgoing person, I saw so much from me in her trying to stand strong by herself even if we are way chiller and weaker on the inside, it shows throught little gestures. And that moment I started following her, I related to her then and even more rn

I've quietly wished for Jessi's "Lemonade"/Beyonce album -- in the sense that it's singing, based on real pain, struggle, and ultimately success even if it's not 100% autobiographical. Her vulnerability is powerful when she allows herself to show it.

I know this may sound silly but whenever I see Jessi in an interview with anyone other that Eric or someone she’s closer to, I see how they pigeonhole her into a caricature of who they assume she is. Jessi is honest about who she is but her truth is always overlooked by preconceived notions about her. She is one of the only celebrities I look at and think to myself that I just want to be her friend. She’s someone I want to look out for like as her big sister. It’s weird I know but 🤷🏾♀️

Incredibly insightful episode. I don't know if this comment will ever reach you Jessi, but I highly recommend seeking out a therapist to get some of the weight off, you don't have to shoulder this burden yourself. Especially during the pandemic, we've developed a lot of coping mechanisms in isolation because we were forced to try and survive and claw out of that despair out of desperation to find the light and hope we know should be there, and it doesn't have to be that way! Wishing you the best in your future projects.
