Soldier boy is the only one who doesn't abandon his principles throughout the show. He's even willing to murder his own family because of the villians they've become.
I don't think he wanted to kill Homlenader because of him being Evil, rather to honor the deal with Butcher and most importantly, because he sees himself in Homelander and doesn't want his son to be a disappointment like he views himself
He's the only one that kept his word through out.
