Could be that one girl was unable to participate for health reasons or something else and the only backup warrior who could take her place was one of the boys.

In the 1st two series: they had 3 boys and 1 girl but from series 3 onwards to 5. They had 2 boys and 2 girls.
Could be that one girl was unable to participate for health reasons or something else and the only backup warrior who could take her place was one of the boys.
Either a girl had to withdraw for health reasons or they didn't have enough female applications
