You don’t need to submerge. Just the fumes in a container with the tire with deactivate the tire glue. It may take a bit longer. I buy my acetone at the hardware store in 1 litre or 4 litre cans. Pour some into the bottom of an empty paint can (also cheap at Home Depot)and place a spacer, usually an old rim in the bottom. You can chuck 4 short course size tires in and they be good to go in 24 hrs.
Can you reuse the tire ? I popped the foam in my drag wheel and if I could remove the tire and put a new foam I would like to use it again. Will the fumes make the tire go bad?
the easiest way i found that worked is puttin the wheel under hot water in the sink, you dont need boiling water, just really hot water, when it's hard to hold the hand in it for more than 3sec worked for me, much easier than boiling
I boil mine, it works good but need to let them boil till the point they just fall off easily, otherwise you’ll be ripping the tires and leaving ca behind. Takes awhile but also gets em looking like new.
Nice vid but who has 8 hrs Bro plus acetone destroys foams (stretches them beyond repair) ....... Heat oven to 350 degrees once temperatures reached install as many tires as you want or your oven holds 😂 once installed immediately turn oven off, set timer for 5-7 minutes, once timer goes off remove tires & with a towell or gloves simply push tires of the wheels...its that easy...
bla bla bla bla bla fking bla just do whatever you fkg want a d don't talk to may 💩💩 the guy just give a tip of how to unglued the tires but you Mr know everything talk just only 💩💩💩 .......just 🤐 🤡
good method to remove. even though many just ask stupid questions and others just talk shit. about your method. everyone is free to use the method they want. if they don't like what you tried to do in this video. Just keep your mouth shut and don't talk, you're not going to get a fly in your mouth 🤡
I removed them by leaving them soak in Acetone overnight... That simple, you place them in a plastic bowl, laid them down, fill it up with Acetone. Just enough to cover the tires, place tight lid, and by morning you'll have clean wheels 👍
I’m curious also so it doesn’t effect the tire or foam? I’m mainly asking about the tires hell I’ll get new foams if need be lol. I just wanna make sure it won’t weaken my tires I’m taking off. Good tires on shit wheels? Thanks for any additional suggestions comments
@@kgrc0078 It's a good video. I've been putting them in a 5 gallon bucket with acetone sitting in the bottom and the wheels and tires on racks. Put the lid on and let the fumes do the work. Let sit for a few days and boom.. they fall right off with no effort and no mess.
@@RX-0_FPV does that let you keep reuse the tires and foams? I have a set of tires, and they are glued crappy. I want to redoo them, so interested in preserving them.
Gr8 tire hack my friend…… now I can do a good job on my old tires….. Re-using the rims will be a lot cheaper in general…..
Thank You ☮️~~~~out!👍🏻😎

Does this work on glue that has been on the tires and rims for years, I just want the rims ?

my question, can the tires, if new, be reused in Bead Locks
if not reusing the tire, make a slash across it a couple places, the acetone will drain out before unmounting
Do u think it makes the tire coming off weaker? Or hurt it bc I need to take off some good tires off bad wheels.
Does this stain white wheels?
What if the wheel has sponge or foam between the tire and the rim ? The acetone will damage that fill , right ? So what would be the alternative?
I would like to know this too
Thank you for this video.
Super helpful.
Subbed.
Thank you!!
Will this process be safe for chrome/colour wheels?
I don’t think so as they are painted in. This will definitely strip the paint
Doesnt it eat the plastic??? I seen a video where iacetone ate lego completly desolving it
Awesome Idea

What’s a good way to do this with chrome or color wheels. I don’t want to ruin the finish
oven 👆🏽 ... read my comment above or somewhere on here you'll find it ..... 👍🏼

does it affect the foams? open cell. closed cell
I haven’t tried but I assume it would rip easily after
I've done this with open cell foams. Just carefully wring them out and let them dry. No issues at all.
That's pretty simple and effective. Doesn't it weaken the plastic rim though?
No it doesn’t
Isn't there foam inserts in them?
If so, doesn't acetone attack the foam?
The acetone doesn’t seem to hurt the foam. Although you’ll notice that the foams are so stretched out after use
@@kgrc0078 can you buy just foams?
@@codyprice0295 Yes

does this work with powder coated aluminum rim? I have a set of 5th scale wheels and the tires are bad already.

Thank you!!
Only advice I have, cut the old tires off so there's just a strip of the side wall left then soak them. No wasted acetone
Great idea I like it! 👍🏼 thank you!
@KGRC 007 I do that exact same because I use foam inserts for dirt oval racing and don't like gettin em wet
You did goooood man🤪
Thanks man. Gonna use this method. 👍
😂😂😂😂😂 @ 4:29 And for the rest of the video you really made me chuckle lol Great video 👍✌
Will it cause any damage if you leave it more than nine hours
Sometimes if the glue is stubborn, I'll let mine soak for 2-3 days.
I use to always bake off when i raced off-road...
I can smell it already lol
KGRC 007 🤣🤣🤣
acetone reacts with alot of wheels it wrecks them
But I want to keep the tyres. Does the acetone ruin the tyres, yes I think
Does it effect chrome wheels?
I haven’t tried but I’m guessing it would hurt any painted wheels
Absolutely destroys chrome
how do i do it when i want the tire and not the wheel
Same process. I’ve reused my tires that I took out
Works with crazy glue?
Yes 👍🏼
tried this on tamiya 1/10 plastic wheels, rubber tires... it melted the wheels before the tires came off.
Lol this same exact scenario just happened to me. Have you found a different method?
My rc car came with decent tires but plastic wheels(which I don't need) and they are glued. How can I remove them so I can reuse the tires ?
Plastic wheels the best bro
he just showed you in this video, is this a joke? 😳
@@ConditionZero76, 😉
will it destroy the rubber tires?
because im recycling the tire.. not the rims
I also have same question
does it eat your foams too?
I wouldn’t re use the foam anyway. They’d be very stretched out

Dang! I thought acetone attacked most plastics!!!
Can you reuse the tires after using this method
Yes if they’re still good 👍🏼
I do them in 10 minutes using a vegetable steamer ,
make a video
Where is the proof?

@@Lil_Loki no it won't. Takes the chrome right off.
I realize it's kind of off topic but does anyone know a good site to stream new series online?
@Vance Joaquin Flixportal
@Shane Orion Thanks, I went there and it seems to work :D I appreciate it!!
I've done the same and actually disintegrated the wheel
I guess this is a good way if you're not going to reuse the tire or foam
Yup exactly 👍🏼
You can reuse the tire and foam with this method. I do it all the time.
@@benbekemeier5545 no, the foams stretch out like women in her 9th term

Hahahahaha you really made a mess
Good job on the tires even though you cooked them
no smell no stink? acetone reeks lol
Tolerable
Just make sure your rims are not made from abs so you don't solve them in the acetone. I've just ruined a set of cheap chinese rims this way.
This way works but I've found better ways that don't ruin the foam and make such a mess. I wouldn't call this the "best" way.
I don’t usually make a mess lol this was actually my first mess ever. Tough when the brain is still asleep
It’s actually very clean and easy
