To go into reverse in the Fernadle, you have to press down the brake pedal.
A basic game of MSC is driving calmly to Teimo's, trying to turn around and crashing into Jani, killing two pedestrians, flipping the Satsuma onto the roof on a invisible pixel, dying of thirst two times duribg the trip to get the Kekmet, somehow clipping the Kekmet into a tree causing a restart, then flipping the Satsuma the right way only to arrive at home and have your sausages spoiled.
Just if you haven't figured it out yet. Truck need to build up air preussure to release the parking brake. Truck brakes run on air.
11:45 you need to hold break and then downshift (I had the same problem first time with the Ferndale)

depress brake pedal to shift from park (and into reverse too)
dont floor it or youll lose control easily
