Do you ever check the wind you were be detected
this lesson I have learned the hard way before. I keep my wind indicator in my bino harness to check. I feel like I check the wind quite often but I probably cut it too close and got swirled.
You cow call your way into that bull when he just responds without moving.
Tough to call your way in because then he knows right where I am
@@JKOutdoors. that's the point, when you call to elk they always know where you are at but when they hang up like that you have better odds of getting into range of that bull if you cow call your way to him (with the right wind) as long as he is answering to your cow calls. And when you get within 100-75yrds you quit and he's either going to come look for you or will be raking a tree which gives you a great opportunity to slip into range and stick him. It just gives you better odds of harvesting instead of walking away from a bull that's answering you but not doing what YOU want him to, sometimes you gotta do what HE wants you to do
@@idahoruss6423 is spot on! Listen to him for future hunts! Anytime a bull responds to a cow call he is calling this cow or cows to him. Go to him, ground noise is irrelevant at that time, he fully expects the cow to make her way in his direction! Make sure you have cover & the wind in your favor in your approach!
