They did a disservice when she either quit or lefted the show.
Yeah because the casting of these veteran actors was much better.

I love Lesley! She is so warm, and believable as Laura's mother. I remember when she was one of the "stars" of the show. Gloria Monty fired her because GF was exhausted by the L & L story line, and abusing drugs and alcohol. Denise really cared about her, and encouraged her to go take care of herself. The poor girl had been on the show since she was 14. She missed her entire adolescence! To Denise, she was a human being. To Gloria, she was a ratings booster.
"That's what you're calling it? A misunderstanding?" Lesley talks more like normal people than almost anyone on this show.
I just love the sound Lesley makes at 6:17! She always had a funny side to her acting.
No way would I believed Laura would of remarried Scotty. Love that she's with Kevin now! Miss Leslie so much,bring her back to #GH

I'm glad that Laura is with Kevin now. At this point in her life, I think she's done chasing bad guys with Luke. She's a mature woman who is her own person, and who calls her own shots. She's not a damsel in distress needing to be rescued by adrenalin junkie Luke. TG is a great actor. But, I like how her relationship with Kevin evolved naturally, without tons of drama.

Frank Valenti is doing a great job with GH by bringing back the core characters. I hope Leslie is around for a long time. And I hope that she and Monica have some scenes together.

Luke and Laura Loved each other like no two people could ever love . so depressing that they split up. Laura has lost her marbles to re-marry Scott

I remember this storyline. Loved seeing Lesly return with Spencer but I hated that previous actress who played Lulu had left just when Laura was back full time. I always thought she looked more like Luke and Laura than her replacement.

Lesley was kidnapped by the cassidines. They faked her death and Laura learned of all that in 1996 and faked her death so she could go rescue Lesley. As for the Rick and Laura Storyline in 2002. It was a BS rewrite of history to make Rick look bad

Nah - He didn't mean for Laura to take the blame, he meant for Luke to take the blame for Rick's murder! Of course, Luke got off, Laura was nuts, and Scott stalked Laura in France. LOL!
I miss Leslie. Also, Laura has the WORST taste in men. How the heck can she set aside everything Scotty did to her and her family over the years?! Does she have selective memory?? Ugh. Whoever wrote this storyline should be slapped upside the head.

Melissa, could you go through all the bad things Scotty did to Laura's family over the years. With the exception of him having Laura take the rap for Ricks death, which he wanted to pin on Luke. Would love to see the list. Then put together a list of all the rotten things Luke and Laura did to Scott. I wonder what list is longer?
Lesley was injected by Stefan with a drug to look as though she was dead and was gone from '84-'97. The actress was absolutely black balled out of GH by Gloria Monty because DA encouraged GF to leave GH in '81 and GM never forgave her for that.

Where'd you hear this about DA encouraging her to leave? I always understood that GF was told she wasn't as important as Tony and that's why she left. She was hurt, esp. since she's the MAIN reason why GH was saved in the '77.

I love that after old producers and and head writers leave it opens the door for fan favorite actors to return. Lesly was so fierce when she said “…you killed my husband!” How crazy is that Scotty killed Rick and worse than that how crazy was it that Rick was “hurting” Laura!!? That whole storyline was absolutely bananas!
Laura was the only woman on the show who spoke like a normal person. The rest of them had that “academy” voice.

You know looking at back this. And the storyline where Laura first went Comatose. I hated that they ruined Rick's Character when he was such a loving father figure for Laura.

How did Laura get so much taller than Leslie?
It's a funny story I heard in an interview - that Denise Alexander wanted a Laura shorter than Lesley. So, Genie Francis hunched down a little bit in audition, besides her acting skills. When she grew a little more, she tried to stay hunched down a little during interviews and in the show. Over the years, I'm guessing Denise Alexander shrunk, and there's not much that can be done about that! I believe the interview was a dual phone interview with the actors, and the audio is somewhere on YT. I just can't remember the exact channel on YT, and the year of the interview.

@@sallymiller1359 We learned later that the Cassadines had kidnapped her, faked her death, and kept her sedated until about 1996, when Laura learned of it and faked her death to go rescue Lesley. There's a terrible, heartbreaking scene where Laura accidentally ran into the middle of a ceremony at GH to (something something) a memorial to Lesley and Laura. As everyone reeled from seeing her alive yet again, Laura wept and begged Alan to trust her enough to come with her and see Lesley. Amy, in particular, was heartbreaking to watch as she learned that her sister and her second mom were actually alive, at once.
So Laura was believed dead twice?

Laura re-marrying Scotty made about the same sense as Liz getting back with Ric over and over after the way he treated her several times and especially when she was testifying for Jason or when he planted a bug on her or brought in a fake wife for "Jake Doe", or what he did to Carly in the Panic Room
At least Ric was hot. Maybe Scott just hits some sweet spot in Laura that we don't know about.

Did the wedding take place? I used to be a huge General Hospital fan during the initial Luke and Laura era but lost interest in the many disappearances ,presumed deaths and coming back to lifes.
It did, but apparently the marriage didn't last long (2 months maybe!?) ah, soaps lol .... Believe Laura is married to Kevin Collins now.

They did marry, and then left town. We never saw more than a smidge of their two-ish-year marriage. Scott killed Rick by accident, but he did let Laura take the fall, causing her years-long catatonia.
There's no need for Lesley and Monica to fight when that hatchet was buried back on the early 80s.

Actually, the hatchet was buried after Rick and Lesley married the second time. While they weren't besties, they were cordial to one another and were no longer spitting nails and vile comments to one another. Check the history. It's here on You Tube.
I watched it religiously back then--actually from 1978 until about 1886. Being civil with a co-worker is hardly burying the hatchet. They tolerated each other at best.

Exactly. The knock down fight should have happened when Lesley found out about Monica and Rick in he 70's. She warmed a bit to Monica when Monica performed Rick's heart surgery. Any fighting now would be old news.

So much disappearing, kidnapping and stealing babies, over and over . Lesley was supposed to have died in a car accident. Laura was kidnapped. How many times? I don't watch soaps anymore, and this why.
Guess that's what happens when shows don't end, sadly nothing to do but keep repeating the same ol storylines. Wish they had cancelled GH years ago like the other soaps.

I'll admit haven't watched it since mid 80s So let's see Leslie and Laura return from the dead, they were kidnapped by the Cassadines, so it wasn't D L Brock who Bobbi and nearly everyone blamed him for her accident. I remember Scotty throwing Luke off the boat in 1979, can't blame him for retaliating.

stefan faked her death he drugged her so she wouldnt remember he kept her safe for laura and in the end when laura faked her death she reunited with her.
That was actually a good storyline - written by Richard Culliton. They fired him before the story could play out. Lesley was brought back from the dead and Culliton planned a Webber renaissance, which would have included Rick. Geary and Culliton did not get along - there was even rumors it turned physical on set between the men. Tensions were high and Culliton was the casualty. Lesley was then backburned and completely written off except for occassional recurring appearances.
@@tonyatmidnight If that's true, how sad. I always wondered why they didn't include Lesley when it came to Cassadine payback after "Twist of Fate", which is one of my favorite storylines. That one was so well done by the writers and actors - the tension, drama, the return was all so well done! If what you say is true, they really screwed us viewers over. I was bummed when Lesley faded out of the picture after this storyline.
It is Port Charles, NY. No one is ever really departed there.
