A friend of mine has a cheap premade Donic that allowed the insertion of small weights into the handle via a removable shaft that locks into place. So... calling it new technology seems a bit of a stretch. I had a computer mouse that did the same.

Well that's exactly what I am doing. I'm doing video analysis on my games and upload them to CZcams and at the same time I get support and suggestion from other people on how to improve my game and I'm telling you video analysis REALLY is the best way to improve. I've seen this through myself and my CZcams Channel journey proves it.

Hi table tennis daily thanks for the video. I am planning to start video analysis after watching your video. Few questions
1. Could you please share how can I tactically analyze big tournament videos and identify opponent weak point by recording their videos. For instance if I watch Timo vs ma long videos how can I tactically analyze their game ?
2. What app or software you use to analyze your video? For example how you add an CZcams match video in the middle of your video for explanation
3. How you add two video side by side for comparison?
4. Do you know any website or share any link which explains tactical analysis of tournament in slow
Motion ?

Easily the best way to assess your game and make adjustments. In my head I play like Timo Boll. Unfortunately its only when I film myself watch it back, I actually play like his Irish cousin Tim O'Boll😪

I understand this is ultimately just a big ad for the sponsor but it would've been nice to hear about Where to position the Camera (most of us don't carry a tripod to practice..) or even What kind of phone or Other related equipment to use..
Camera position is subjective, but most people prefer it to the back right of the court like Dan has here when analysing Chair's forehand. That way right handers aren't blocking the view when serving pendulum or holding the middle of the table. This positioning also gives you the best overall view, seeing positioning on table, what your opponent is doing, depth off table etc. If you want to work on your short game, then obviously move the camera in closer so you can really assess your contact timing. Camera's don't particularly matter either, most smartphones are good enough to get the footage. Most smartphones will let you film at 60FPS so you can slow the footage down to half speed! If no tripod, then get creative haha balance it against something, wedge it in a shoe etc 😆
@@TTDJoe How about resting it on the net looking directly at us. We wouldn't see the other players tho..
@@jplanglais I don’t know if that would work well, because I think the net would wobble too much and there would be too much vibration through the table 🤔 But definitely give it a go and see! I like to see what my opponent is doing as well to help analyse what I could have done better/should have noticed more in the moment 👍🏻
Like Joe said, your phone (assuming you have one) will most likely do the job. I started recording two weeks ago and I will say that your phone should have enough battery and storage. We recorded for about 90 minutes which drained like half of my battery and the file was coming in at 11GB (1080p/60fps). I bought the tripod from Amazon for around 20€. Dan obviously uses a higher quality one, but cheap ones are fine too. Just make sure you can adjust the height (mine goes up to almost 180cm) and the angle with it.
