RepMO Resources: Building Strong Literacy Skills

The latest RepMO Resources campaign focuses on building strong readers and writers at EVERY AGE! Check out the video and the list below for ideas on how to help your student(s) grow in their literacy journey!
*Encourage your student to read in the car on the way to activities or appointments.
*Listen to audiobooks together & discuss what you’re hearing.
*Build your child’s vocabulary by having them describe the texture and taste of items in the grocery store, like fruits. Comparing items is also helpful.
*Reading in front of your child can help foster a love of reading for them.
*Reading to or alongside your student creates a positive attitude toward reading and learning.
*Ask questions about the books your students are reading.
*What was the most surprising plot twist or moment?
*Were there any particular quotes or passages that resonated with you?
Why?
*Can you share any new facts of information from your reading?
*Engage and ask questions about your student’s writing.
*Access the public library! It’s a great FREE resource.
