  • Hi! This video contains an explanation about how the Woojungwon dormitory of the Global Campus of Kyung Hee University looks like. I will show you the way to the dormitory on campus, how the dorms look like, and how the facilities work and look like. I hope it helps you out a bit in preparing your exchange semester at Kyung Hee! Feel free to leave any questions about the Woojungwon dormitory down in the comment section below.
    Much love,

    Heyy, thank you so much for this informative and detailed video.
    Can you share your experience of global campus?
    I've been selected to the international korean language and culture department. Can you tell about the study environment? And how much will you recommend this campus?
    For living too? Is it convenient?
    Actually i Couldn't find much info on the websites too. Some reviews from 3-4 years back said thats its not a good uni and wonjungwon dorm is not good. However through your video it seems pretty convenienct.
    I hope i didn't make a wrong decison in selecting this uni?
    Please let me know your opinion

      Hi Vanshikamittal1288! :) You are very much welcome. I had a very good time at the global campus. The campus has a lot of facilities and next to the campus there are more shops if you want to buy other necessities so there is no need to go far if you need something. Also, I really loved that the campus has a few student associations you can join if you go in the Spring semester. It is a great way to get to know other students and learn more about Korean culture. Other than that, one disadvantage has been that this campus versus the Seoul campus is a bit far away from the city centre. That is something that can be a bit challenging sometimes. Especially when you go out and the busses stop going to the campus from 1 AM and only go again from 5 AM in the morning. But other than that the bus connections are quite good, cheap and go very regularly during the day. I hope this helps a bit? Or are there other things you'd like to know?

    Hi! Ik wil graag mijn minor doen aan kyung hee volgend jaar. Kun je wat vertellen over je situatie? Heb je bijv een beurs gekregen via je nederlandse school en hoeveel betaal je voor je dorm? Hoe ben je bij deze specifieke dorm gekomen, mocht je kiezen? Dankjewel! :)

    • @Julesjourneyz
      @Julesjourneyz  Před 2 měsíci

      Hey Marlijn! :) Goede vraag en leuk dat je je minor aan Kyung Hee wil gaan doen. Ik ben zelf ook voor de minor naar Kyung Hee gegaan en heb hiervoor inderdaad een beurs kunnen krijgen via mijn Nederlandse universiteit. Ik geloof dat ik voor de gedeelde dorm omgerekend iets van 250 euro per maand heb betaald. Ik kon dit met mijn beurs dan ook niet betalen, dus dat was fijn! Ik kwam bij deze dorm omdat dit de enige dorm is die bij de campus hoort en het de makkelijkste optie was qua housing. Je kan er ook voor kiezen om zelf op zoek te gaan naar een eigen studio/appartement/studentenhuis maar omdat veel in Korea alleen in het Koreaans wordt aangegeven, ben ik voor de makkelijke optie gegaan. Plus via de dorm heb ik ook al m'n beste vriend(inn)en ontmoet. Maar je kan dus kiezen of de Woojungwon dorm of zelf iets zoeken. En hou daarnaast er rekening mee dat Kyung Hee twee campussen heeft: deze en de Seoul campus (die ligt dichterbij de stad). Hopelijk helpt dit wat? :)

    Hi Julianne, does the Woojungwon dormitory have a curfew, and if so how does it work? Thank you so much!

    • @Julesjourneyz
      @Julesjourneyz  Před rokem +1

      Hi! Good question! The dormitory does not have a curfew luckily, you can enter the building at any time of day. The front of the building has a few entrance doors via which you can enter the dormitory. Between 22:00 and 08:00 o'clock they close some of the doors. They leave at least two open however, so you will always be able to access the building!

    Do Yonsei students also stay at this dorm?

    • @Julesjourneyz

      Hi Barbara :) Yonsei students do not stay at this dorm. This dorm is for Kyung Hee students only. Yonsei has its own dormitory I believe.

    Where do you usually eat?

    • @Julesjourneyz
      @Julesjourneyz  Před rokem +2

      Thank you for your question! That's a good one. As you can see there is a food court inside of the dormitory. However, usually I go to the cafeteria in the other dormitory on the Global Campus. That one is a 5 minutes walk away and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner on weekdays. I am especially a fan of the lunch and dinner, since you get a lot of food for only 4500 won! (that's roughly 4 dollars and 3,5 euros) Otherwise, the convenience stores near the dormitory and around the campus also have lunch options such as kimbaps (Korean sushi roll) or onigiris (triangular rice snack with a particular filling wrapped in seaweed). Oh an a tip! Spring season means strawberry season. That is why the e-mart close to the dormitory sells strawberries for very cheap! Cheapest that I have seen so far compared to anywhere else. I hope that helps :)
