One of the best computer hardware reviews I've seen online. Well done @racerprose, just what I needed. I've been on the fence about the XB271HU when comparing it to some 2017 & 2018 models (IPS, VA, and TN) as I'm building a high performance gaming PC in 2018. I think I'll pull the trigger...
Just got Acer Predator XB271HUA the TN version for 3600dkk " 579$" wich is cheap ^^ normal price is 755$ 4700dkk and im so happy with it ^^ Went from asus vg278he to this and man the 1440p is amazing
Some ppl might complain but you are the monitor review guy. I love how you are so damn meticulous with the review and nitpick on everything. Thank you so much. I have 2 and love them dearly. Great if not best review on this monitor. It explains all the little things people need to know. I want you to be the guy that reviews the dell s2716dg vs this ips predator you would be great at it. Super fucking detailed 30 min review comparison.
Hey did u buy this monitor ? How is it? There is something bad things what i need to know? Is ot the best of the best in 2020year ? When no? Say plz which one is the best ? Thanks bro a lot and sorry for my eng)
@@vadimfrasineanu1345 Hey, Yes I did get this monitor and am still using it now. Honestly there aren't any bad things about it. You need a good GPU to run games on it, so take that into consideration. I don't know if there are better monitors in 2020 but I am still very happy with it. G Sync is incredible. I would still buy it today. hope this helped.
Hi guys , im thinking of biting the bullet and spending that extra $$ for an Acer Predator XB271HU 27" inch, 1440p , 165Hz , IPS G-Sync Monitor .This monitor is simply amazing and ticks all the boxes, im currently running a gigabyte 8gb gtx1080 , I've spent the last 10 years on a Samsung 22" Syncmaster T220HD (im guessing fake 1080p/60hz refresh rate) so im guessing this extreme monitor will make a huge difference , it costs around 840 euros in my place which is almost one and a half monthly wage , my question is for how long will this monitor's lifetime be ? Should i wait a couple of years till the price drops and get a cheap 24" 144hz TN for now ? Will the price drop ? Is this monitor futureproof for next gen gpu's such as Volta ? Thing is besides fps gaming , i also watch movies , play rpg's , football games, office work and browsing, generally stuff that i'd rather have the best graphic eyecandy that IPS panels delivers from what i hear Is it worth spending this much and sit tight with this monitor for like the next 10-15years ? Accept the heavy price as 80euros a year for the most basic essentially part of a pc ? Can't even make use of the gtx's framerate/resolution on this TV/PC screen i currently have.Would it be a good investment to get this monitor now even if its a years+ old? Just to mention that im not interested in 4k/2k for the future or 3D glasses and (even though the Predator has 3D characteristics). Thank you all for your replies and spending a moment to read my post !
I dont know if u already got new monitor .. i am using this monitor for good 5 months .. and i am stunned .. i also used 22 inc monitor with like 60 hz but i was ok with it , and when i get this acer monitor i was like WOW .. with my gtx 1080 strix runs like beast all games maxed out ultra and g sync is AMAZING ! Go for it !

I got the eizo Fg2421 before and now i got that panel...no backlight bleed but the ips glow with silver taint is driving me insane... Thinking about keeping my eizo...
Where did you buy the acer in which you were bale to return it? and, did they give you any hassle? Newegg only gives you like 15 days after purchase... then they take like 5 days to get it to you so that is a concern. I've never had an IPS panel but the reviews are absolutely scaring the crap out of me on this one.
I am currently using an asus ROG GL15 [144hz] and i have the same monitor at 27inch. Could you please let me know what cable would give me 1440p at 144hz ? Is there any specific cable you could let me know of ? cheers
Can somebody please tell me, how wide the distance is, between the bezel (left/right) to the real display border (in mm)? I want to setup a triple... so the bezel needs to be very small, when the monitors stand side by side. Also the distance from the lower bezel to the real screen is important for me... what is the dimension, please?
I have the Asus ROG strix , and the XB27 165hz , apart from HDMI , i can only enter a USB c ON MY ROG laptop , what cable shall i get for 144HZ , im currently only getting 85
return return return you say :) problem is, its the shop who gets the loss from a returned monitor. they have to re-sell the monitor as a used product. asus claps their hands and keeps making crappy products. i had a pg278 i returned 8 times through asus RMA. now i have pg279 and returned it 1 time. still crappy and im waiting for my local store to get acer z321qu. no more asus ever.
Hi! I bought the Asus PG278QR, but I am not happy at all, the black level is not great and the colors are weird, it's a TN panel. So I am thinking of changing it for this Acer, would it be different since it's IPS? or the black levels and colors will be the same?
IPS - Pros: best colors and view angles. CONS: backlighting and glowing problems. TN - Pros: best response time. CONS bad view angles. VA - Pros: Best contrast. CONS: Slower response time (not very good for fast games).
소유자 1 dead pixel is nothing believe me. I had a monitor with dead pixel and I forgot about it like 1 month later. You wont see them due to high amount of small pixels its unnoticeable.

Racerprose can you tell me is this acer noticeably slower than benq xl2735 which tn with 1ms reaponse time? I don't know what to choose, it's really hard to find a good panel...
I bought that accer ips panel and returned it next day 5 spots of BLB stuff that!! and then I had another 2 try with accer x34.. The first had 3 spots of BLB and screens flickers at 100hz u have to drop it 95hz!!.. I got it replaced with another one that worked fine at 100hz back 2 big spots of BLB!!! I just refunded the money.. I'm sticking with my TN panel until OLED screens come out with greats specs.. stuff this I paid 1300$ au dollars not worth it at all.. This is reported as 28/6/2018..
Is this monitor good enough to get global elite with in cs go or will people with 1 ms response time have an advantage over me :) ?.. Im ordering this monitor on dec 29th hopefully ..
Alex Petersen 165hz is absolutely amazing for csgo. Most players use 60hz monitors so you have a huge advantage over them. I just bought the same monitor on eBay for 400 I can't wait to get it!!
Alex Petersen people have gotten to global on far less... It may give you a very slight advantage at best, but it won’t MAKE you any better. The difference between 1ms and 4ms gtg response times/input lag is such a small instance of time in-game that even if you were good enough to take advantage of it, you probably wouldn’t be worrying about trying to get global on shitty 64 tick mm servers in the first place. Having a deep, extensive understanding of the game with thousands upon thousands of hours of in-game experience is what will give you a huge advantage... Not spending like 500 bucks on a monitor.
Gaming monitors are monitors in steroids and then are not made for last, 2 or 3 years is the average expectation life, if you dont like it use a standard monitor. Gaming with hi end gear was, is and will be expensive.
