Because there is really nothing you can do more about it? Make it transparent/place leather on the back/titanium/glass of any kind I mean design in phones now is much more restrained as they all have the same form factor/functionality

People don't realise how good this phone is for the price... 100% DCI-P3, HDR 10.. display.. best software experience second to stock Android.. great design. Processor should've been Snapdragon (no custom rom support i know, but if nothing make an agreement with Mediatek to release kernel sources, people can make custom roms for it)but i can live with that. This gonna be the best selling phone of 2024 hands down.
@hexagonal707 wait, Nothing phones don't have custom ROM support? Nah that's not right, there are a tons of custom ROMs including LineageOS which have Nothing Phone(1) and Phone(2) listed for downloads. Or are you talking about this specific one?

In practicality, it's gonna be better for sure compared to mid-range pixels, at least in battery life, customisation, and design.
Camera might not outperform the pixel but must be great.
Ultimate value king imo.
Afterall Pixel costs more, but offers wireless charging and IP68 rating.

I was hoping to have been able to say that about Nothing 2 but I'm glad I can finally say it about 2a.
Great job by the design team and engineering team. This phone will be a very strong seller I think because the features and design are hard to beat.
So hard to choose a colour because they both look great.
However I do wish the black was slightly lighter because in normal or slightly dimmer lighting it just looks black and you miss out on the transparency. Stunning under bright light though.
I really love that they used a plastic back because you cannot get that licalicious shiny, smooth, curvaceous design with glass.
To my eyes the design and choice of colours and materials is an instant classic of beautiful and thoughtful design.

Pre ordered one. The 4 year update and the 1 year Perplexity Pro subscription worth it alone. I am a huge Pixel fan and this is the perfect successor for the Pixel 5(even tough a lot bigger, this is the only aspect i don't really like). Also for those who have problem with no adapter, in my preorder i got the adapter with a 180mm usb-c cable for less then the adapter alone and the Case and screen protector for the same price as just the case...I don't know why they don't advertise this more but it is basically discounted in bundles.

everybody complains about the horizontal camara module placement. but that is the thing i mostly like in this device ( design wise ) and of course Nothing OS too
The only thing that could be added to this phone, since wireless charging has been removed, is to make this line throughout the body a glyph or glowing, like a charging indicator. and not just a decorative element

Phone (2a) is a downgrade from even the Phone (1) in some aspects such as the lack of wireless charging & reverse wireless charging, plastic back and frame which is less premium and scratches easier, not to mention less glyph goodness and no recording light indicator, sure it is a slight upgrade in terms of speed (not by much) and battery, probably has better life than even Phone (2), overall cool and competitive for the price but its not a clear upgrade over the Phone (1) like the regular Phone (2) is.
Wireless charging is the most useful advancement in technology. It's basically "cableless". Every technology advancement in the past from wired to wireless led to more mobility. This is the only abomination of so-called wireless advancement that led to less mobility. On top of it, it's slower & is bad for battery health. If it were upto me, I wish it never existed. I don't need it & will never want it!
@@balaji210693 Well you don't want it but most people appreciate this "advancement" if you don't want it then make sure you get a phone that doesn't have this feature such as the Phone (2a)

I love the look of the phone and wish it would have officially came to the US. Yes, you can get it through the developer program however its missing literally all essential LTE and 5G bands to work properly on At&t, T-Mobile, and all other MVNO's. I would have gotten this phone in a heartbeat if it had those things.

the black & white interface makes it harder to find the app i want, colour helps a lot, ended up strain my eyes more.

I love the 2a camera photo colors, I think you nailed the white balance, hues, sat etc! the rest needs a lot of work, but for this price its amazing!

i love the design and amazing os nothing puts out, but the thing that has put me off from buying one for a while is the specs
they are decent, enough to beat an iphone, but that shouldn't be that hard as they are actually pretty bad
but there is so many hardware pieces where motorola and others beat them by so much in their price range
overall i think nothing has a long way to come but has been and will continue to be very impressive.

I switched from iPhone 11 to phone2, but it’s still hard to get used this google apps, why is only the voice recorder customized? I want to have a usable calendar, calculator, notes and photo album at hand. still have to use these app on my macbook

Your nothing 2a phone turned out to be just magical in terms of design, autonomy and functions, but how lacking is 4k60 fps on the front camera! I will count on this feature in my phone 3. I'm a fan of yours!
