@paulcrisp9861- Re your comment9861 - "Why is it as an English man i feel so so happy and enlightened everytime i hear the pipes and drums? Beautiful beautiful beautiful EVERYTIME" - I don't know, maybe it's because you're FAR more enlightened than most of your countrymen. I've been stranded in England for over 50 years now, & sadly, despite most scots being quite friendly, as I am, VERY many sassenachs despise us - V. SAD people !

If the Eurocrats get their way all the diversity that was Europe will be washed away in the pursuit of a globalist ideology where every place and everyone is the same, diversity is not just skin deep, it’s a mindset, a place, a thought, a tradition....that is true diversity !
I met some people from Inverness today. Nicest customers in my store for a long time.... Uh, except also another couple from Glasgow. All nice. Calm, cool and decent. Good people
TheDutchPathFinder1 My father's family is 100 percent Scottish. I have been there 5 times. It is truly a wonderful country. By all means you need to experience it. Hope you get there someday soon.
@Rad Derry Naww that's fatalistic skewed cynical bullshit, I've lived in Scotland 60 years and never even seen a glimpse of your trainspotting MOVIE world. Mind you it's wise to avoid Junkies, or using them as entertainment or education, but you get them in every city around the world. Scotland does not suck, I built a good business here and raised a family. The normal Non druggy people are really nice, quite canny, good craic, funny too, and the scenery is Fantastic. Higher Education, Medical care and prescriptions are free , which is phenomenal, very unusual in the Western World.
Yes it is the kinda swagger that says I am Scots we are all Scots. The only reason the British rules here is because we let them but this is our land and we will march were we please.
Love the fact that the audio is crisp and well equalised. On headphones the low end of the bass drums sounds very nice. There isnt any distorsions or shouts or other ambient noises. Pure power. Thanks to those who uploaded this clips and those who made it quality sounding.. Manifiesto Bartoza Seattle WA
I have a peaceful and good feeling with this sound. It also evokes a sense of power that I love because it is not destructive energy, but yes we can fight!
If you look close you can see that he is marching with a stiffish leg, so think that the "crooking " of his arm is more of a "whince" , but he looks a tough bugger along with the other drum majors.
The two pipe majors in the second row on the ends are wearing my family tartan. My people left Scotland in the late 1700s/early 1800s for Nova Scotia, Canada..... I'm a very proud Scottish American.
When on Vacation with my parents In Montreal in 1939, we happened to be in the area where the pipe band was parading. While at a stop, the bass drummer let me play the drum in time with the music. Quite a thrill for a 5-year old!! We also watched a refugee ship come to dock and saw all the kids leaning over the rails. Though I didn't understand it at the time, that sight has never left my memory.
I'm proud to be from the town (now City) where this was filmed. I am also proud and honoured to have played in the Inverness and district pipe band as a younger man. I haven't played the pipes in many years now but seeing this brought a year to my eye.
Post- I've watched this many times and can't keep my eyes off of him (don't know why). I'll pull family members over -" Watch this guy!!" They don't seem to get it. It's something in the way he brings his right arm back, where the others just use a straight arm swing, I think. Thanks for making the comment. I thought there was something wrong with me.
@@fayewike7363 It's probably because he can't swing his arm straight. DM's in civic PipeBands tend to come from Drummer and Piper ranks when they can no longer play because of health problems or injuries. Our DM was a top-notch side drummer who developed dupertons contractions in his hands, then marched us down the street until he was 85. Tough old bird he was.
I remember when I was about 12 years old, we were on a Sunday school trip and a pipe band was marching by. I started to follow them and I remember they were a good band. I forgot the time completely and my family were frantic when I was missing. Thankfully, they were going around a housing scheme and we finally got back to where I started following them. It was only when I saw the familiar surroundings on my return, that reminded me of my family. I got a blazing row for disappearing like that but it was worth it lol.
I'm German but I would prefer to be Scottish. As long as the Royal Army was stationed in Germany we went every Year to the Royal Military Tattoo in West Berlin and it was marvellous. The whole family loved it and still does. Gerti and family

And I've listened to this probably 300 times in a week. It's one of THE most beautiful songs ever made played on THE most beautiful instrument!! I LOVE this!!

well here u are enjoy it from a scottish young girl XD :)
Also speaking as an American, how can they manage to stay in tune (and in step) when our marching bands--including the professional ones!--can't?
