Had my first solo flight sa T3 last month kuya mitch, kahit may delay it was a positive experience. Saktong spotting lang para maaliw, tingin2x sa mga heavy na nakapark, pasyal2x sa mga stores. Through your vloggs kuya mitch, it gave me the confidence during trips specially having conversations with ground staffs and crew kung saan nakakatulong ng pagpapawala ng kaba. As always safe travels kuya mitch!

Almost all of my siblings are there na sa US, baka di na daw ako bumalik ng Pinas, hahaha! The embassy won’t take my word na I still wanna go home and mas masarap sakin mabuhay dito sa Manila. Anyhow, in case I’d be lucky, yeah I sure wanna cover aviation there. Di pa uso ang CZcams, I was spotting na sa LAX. Nothing beats the sound of engines coming to life and your plane picking up speed and eventually taking off. Been doing this for 18 years and it never gets old. That's why gusto ko yung channel mo along with other top travel vloggers like Josh Cahil, etc. We have the A320 (A321 coming soon), B737, B757, B767, B777, and B787 types in our fleet. In the past 10yrs except the covid periods i always fly cebu pacific due to cost and availability of an indoor parking. I rarely have problems with the flights. I usually fly the first flight and last flight as you encounter less problems. My lesson? Adapt to airline problems. Pag landing nyo narinig ko yung engine whale sounds, nasa A320 NEO kayo?

Kuya Mitch, great video. What is the story regarding the masks? I was in Vietnam in December/January and while I had to wear a mask on Al Nippon, (TYO-SGN-TYO), I flew several segments within Vietnam (Bamboo Air, Vietjet, and Vietnam Airlines) with no mask requirement. I look forward to returning to The Philippines in the near future. Finally, did the F/A's sing for announcements? The Vietnamese airlines could learn from Cebu Pacific (have fun).

I just read a comment from a netizen, and I was shocked and horrified by his naivety and ignorance! His comment was "One Airline policy is the solution. Philippine Airlines should be the only airline in the country."🤣 What a terrible mindset this netezin has!
Did you know that Cebu Pacific changed the air travel in the Philippines, and because of Cebu Pacific all Filipinos (Juan) have a chance to fly. Back then, Ferries were the most practical and economical option to travel inter-island.
And it was also the period when thousands and thousands of Filipinos who could not afford to travel by air with PAL died every year in sea tragedies. And one of the worst sea tragedies was on December 20, 1987, the MV Doña Paz, a passenger ferry bound for Manila, collided with an oil tanker carrying 9,000 barrels of combustible petroleum products, sinking the ferry and resulting in more than 4,300 fatalities and only 24 survivors in one of the world's deadliest maritime disasters in history, killing more people than the Titanic disaster that killed more than 1,500 people.
My parents, uncles and aunties told me that they couldn't afford to fly back then, they couldn't afford to travel by air when Philippines Airlines (PAL) dominated the market during the 1970s and 1980s. As it was the sole domestic airline, Philippine Airlines (PAL) was virtually monopolizing the country's aviation industry. 1974 - PAL continues to dominate the industry by having the monopoly on domestic travels. Air travel was a luxury. Flying was very expensive, PAL's ticket from Cebu to Manila was more or less 6K and during 70's, 80's and 90's it was too much, the PAL base airfare in 1980's or 1990's cost 6K or 20K in today's peso. It was very horrible; it was very awful; they could not afford the air fare; it was ridiculously expensive. Flying during those days was a luxury, and the flight attendants were unfriendly and unapproachable; they thought too highly of themselves, being overweening and overbearing, especially to the Overseas Filipino Workers.
Fortunately, when Cebu Pacific started flying, everything changed. Air travel became very accessible, available, friendly, fun, and affordable, and all Filipinos can now fly to their favorite domestic and international destinations with high quality and friendly service at an affordable price. We're very proud and very thankful to Cebu Pacific. We love Cebu Pacific. Cebu's flag carrier. Cebu Pacific is the largest and the leading Airline in the Philippines. Cebu Pacific is the most popular in the country. CEB operates the widest domestic network in the Philippines. Cebu Pacific is now a household name.
In January 1972, Philippine Airlines became a monopoly in domestic air travel after the late Dictator and Kleptocrat Ferdinand Marcos (by virtue of his powers under Martial Law) ordered the foreclosure of two other airlines - Filipinas Orient Airlines (FOA) and Air Manila Inc. (AMI). Marcos implemented a one-airline policy.
No business is perfect. NONE. Business is a game of progress, not perfection. No business will be perfect. It’s an impossibly unattainable goal. But while that goal is unattainable, the most endearing and enduring businesses seem to always aspire to reach perfection. They always make progressive steps to improve their business and how their business connects with people. Sure, they will stumble along the way. But the true measure of a company is how they recover and forge ahead making progress along the way to overcome their mistakes.
No person is perfect. NO ONE. As people we also mess up BIG-TIME. We constantly make bad decisions that harm others. We disappoint friends. We betray people’s trust. We cannot achieve perfection. Doesn’t mean we should give up and not try. The most endearing and enduring people I know make progress every day to improve themselves and their relationships with others. And when people see progress being made, they are willing to forgive mistakes.

And don't you know that before Cebu Pacific became a household name, there was Cebu Grand Air, its predecessor before Gokongwei purchased it in 1996. Thus, not only did the late John Gokongwei keep the name 'CEBU' for its strong branding strategy but most importantly, paid tribute to his roots by naming his airline Cebu Pacific as his business empire started all in Cebu. Cebu Grand Air was the first airline to challenge PAL which was notoriously known for its 'planes always late' infamy.

There was indeed Grand Air during the 90’s but it was short-lived. They used an A300 aircraft on flights to Cebu and Hong Kong, and even served hot meals even on domestic routes. Sadly it was mismanaged. I remember its logo/tailfin design was blue with a lette G on it…

    • @elgadricchartoen4369

@@chukkoi Yes, but not Cebu Grand Air, which was allegedly purchased by Gokongwei in 1996, as mentioned by Lionhearted1969 in his comment. I found it on Google that it was Grand International Airways, or Grand Air, an airline in the Philippines during the mid to late 1990s.
Grand Air was owned by the Panlilio family, which also owned Grand Boulevard Hotel in Roxas Boulevard, Philippine Village Hotel (Airport Hotel) and Puerto Azul - a resort hotel in Cavite.
Towards the mid 1990s, Grand Air used to fly to Hong Kong Kai Tak using their Airbus A300s.
The airline was forced to fold operation due to mounting debt problem with its Taiwanese creditors.

    • @lionhearted1969
      @lionhearted1969 Před 11 měsíci

@@elgadricchartoen4369 Grand Air was Cebu-based. It was the first Cebu-based airline and the operator, Cebu Air, Inc. sold it to John Gokongwei maybe about 5 years later. Don't be surprised as it's not unusual for Manila-centric media/people not to recognize Cebu or other areas outside Manila if they write a story about people/businesses which come from the region.
