I'm late on this but still wanted to say, this band was my #1 genius band for the whole time they where active. They are a challenging listening at first but after 10-15 times listening to the album it is so incredibly rewarding to actually understand all the beautiful subtilities of their music and actively follow how intricate and precise the instrumetation is.
Atm my #1 genuis band is Gorod

- Transcendance (2011), is a 15 minutes musical orgasm with incredible orchestration. Surprisingly easy to listen though
- Waltz of Shades (2023), Interesting time signature. A slow, groovy and heavy song.
- Chronicle from the Stone Age (2006), Controlled aggression and great musicianship. For me the ultimate song when I need to let some steam off.
Not many comments on here and especially from fans of this genre so here I go...If you are a fan of aggressive and technical death metal then this band is considered top-tier. I personally would put this up there with Necrophagist as bands that changed the genre. A current band that reminds me of them at times is Fleshgod Apocalypse. Of Spawn of Possession's 3 albums I would say Incurso is their veritable masterpiece. The pies de resistance. Check out the rest in your own free time good sire and enjoy!

Death vocals don't mix well with symphonies. From a tech perspective though, bravo, it takes talent to play fast and complicated music, it's just not my thing.

I have a very simple rule, if I can't read the name of the band in their logo, I know I will not like their music. Polite Pass from me.
Then you'll be missing out on so many amazing albums.. this here is just a Hell of a Masterpiece of a record... highly regarded in the Tech Death, Progressive and Simphonic Death Metal community
