Very nice yet concise summary of events. Great job!
They missed the bit where she tries to withhold the legal documents, preventing parliament from making an informed decision and being held in contempt of parliament
I guess I'm pretty randomly asking but do anybody know of a good website to stream newly released movies online?
@Alessandro Wyatt Flixportal xD
She looks considerably younger in the footage from two and a half years ago.
aperson22222 must be the stress of lying to her people
@sickpuppy4711 or white people in general don't age well .
How did she end up in this mess.... easy, she took a job she was incompetent to do lol
Better than Cameron that upped and quit.
fcas2y6 Wow
Nice 1
@@fcas2y6 No hate there then
GetYour Fix but Cameron wanted to stay ...he thought he was playing brexit card to maxim benefits and didn’t know so much people would stab him from behind because of politic benefit
This actually papers over the sheer scale of the incompetence, self-interest, duplicity, and lack of good faith in how the Conservative government has mismanaged all this. An omnishambles if ever there was one.
Could be worse we could have Corbyn in No10!
@@2490debrick Corbyn is not worse than fears of literal starvation and lack of medicine.
@@2490debrick Correct it was better now the worse has happend, we now have a bigger Tory Rishi Sunak in No10!
Everything always goes wrong near Christmas every year without fail.
Sam Holden oh man, I hear that!
The worst is to come
It got worse
Should've listened to her own instincts and never called the general election. The public can always sense political opportunism and very rarely ever reward it.
Poor lady, shes trying harder than anyone else would.
The backstop is just a distraction. .we lose a lot more than we already had.!!!
exactly
Colin Hughes . The deal with never get through Parliament as the backstop is not the only issue that needs cast iron legal changes and the corrupt EU says it won’t move and the DUP will not put up with “ tinkering around the edges “ as Arlene Foster put it. The DUP will not bend to this crap deal and if the people have got any sense neither will they. Tell me what did we already have, unlimited immigrants, being ruled by a foreign court, being dictated to by an unelected, undemocratic power crazy union, our fishing industry decimated, our farming industry decimated small businesses going to the wall when we joined the single market because they were suddenly hit with mountains of rules and regulations, oh and paying them £10 billion a year for the privilege. They haven’t had their accounts audited and signed off for almost 20 years and now the MEP,s don’t have to declare their expenses, they just spend without any control. Just remember a lot of our money pays for that and as a taxpayer I don’t like it one bit, everything should be accountable otherwise it is easy for fraud to be committed. Even when people say that we get x amount of money back from the EU just remember it’s our own money coming back to us, so it’s not a gift as we payed it in the first place.
If she told the EU what was going to happen and how much they were going to pay things would be different, she needs to give them a offer that they cannot refuse.
lol like what? the uk got the best deal it's gonna get. take it or leave it.
gomey70 a properly negotiated deal wouldn't be up to the EU they would would be happy to do as told. To quote Chairman Mao "all political power comes at the point of a gun" and the EU doesn't have a Army or more importantly in this case a Navy.
@@colonelangus8247 of course the EU doesn't have a navy or army the countries in it do however
@@nordic5628 some of those countries have a token military but compared to NATO they are not relevant.
@@colonelangus8247 Hilarious. Since when is the UK = NATO? France and Italy alone have a navy that, when combined, is almost twice the size of the UK's. In what kind of scenario would the UK be more relevant than the rest of the European Union?
It's going to hurt the EU to lose the UK, but not as much as it's going to hurt the UK to lose the EU. Brexit has always been a lose-lose kind of scenario, sold with lies to tabloid-readers who know little about how Europe works politically or economically. That's why there will be no better deal; it's either this or hard brexit.
Basically no one who was qualified dare take the challenge
Theresa May remind me of another woman prime minister who was also drunk on power and that was Margaret Thatcher.
Margaret Thatcher was a good prime minister
I think this was a fine summary of what has happened. It is unfortunate that some people will hate on everything sky news produces, without stopping to actually look at what was posted and determining whether it was good or bad.
David Cameron is to blame. He is at his home enjoying life instead of taking the blame.
Brexit was always going to be a disaster for the U.K. It was always going to be painful. People are looking at Brexit like it’s going to mean a better deal for the U.K right away and that is NOT POSSIBLE. The fact so many people are upset with the Brexit deal shows how ignorant people are about what it means to leave the EU.
Dear LORD God, please remove Theresa May from political office.
I agree
May, worthless and useless. Wants to take back control of our borders. She has had control of non EU immigration since 2010 and it is still hopelessly out of control, adding millions to the population straining housing, infrastructure, health, social and education services.
And Lord don't be a prat and stick that tit Corbyn in No10!
Won't happen while there's still so many over 70's who are still around and carry on cluelessly voting Tory at every election. Thankfully the tories will eventually die out with their voters
Then what?
Brexit means Brexit.
The only hope for conservative government to stay was by giving May no confidence vote. Now Labour will automatically win in the next election.
The fact is: she won.
Suffice it to see that Chinese are happy May won
@@gioi.3203 she won a leader vote, but the no confidence went from 48 letters to over 100 votes OVER NIGHT, thats not a win at all, she won't be around long, traitor to the House and more importantly the people
@@gioi.3203 she hasn't won anything nobody else in the tory party wanted to drink out of the poisoned chalice
Let's hope the people aren't that Thick!
OMG i used to go to that coffee shop almost every morning when i stayed in Notting Hill. Lots of Portuguese there :)
There's an impartial title from a fair and unbiased news reporting service if ever I saw one
2:57 What's up with the camera tilting?
And she won that vote of confidence Adam
Finally we have got a good picture of how this Stalemate has occurred
there must have been a lot of money and arm twisting under tables and behind closed doors to keep TM in office she should have been out
We should elect lord buckethead to be next prime minister.
Gina Millers Parliament idea? Yes, it was Tony Blair who thought that out.....
''until a better option came along'' which means never. So we'll be trapped inside the EU.
It's possible.
Breaking up the UK.
I thought May was playing everyone 🤔 The EU won't give the UK a reasonable withdrawal agreement. I thought that was obvious. May presents what the EU will agree, to the house. The MPs, many of whom only want to push their own agenda of another referendum 🙄, rant and squabble, and the MSM gets excited. May stalls the meaningful vote, waffles a bit more, tries to try improve the agreement, delays some more, tick tock, tick tock. Meaningful Vote eventually happens and fails, Brexit means Brexit and is delivered as promised on 29 March with no agreement. The UK keeps 39 billion, May resigns the following day.. New leader elected (probably Boris), govt gets to negotiate a trade deal in a strong position, following the general election approx around September 2019. I am thoroughly entertained by it all
@Skunky Monk Well we shall see, the Tories will go for Boris I think. Corbyn will go after the next election too I reckon, screaming and kicking maybe, but he might accept defeat 😂. I'm a fan of Skinner, he's a legend, but not young enough. A new leader is needed for Labour, so that they have a chance . There will be another party I expect too, something new. We do need to properly exit the EU Empire and I believe May will deliver in her crafty way
********* The EU court ruled this week that Britain is able to rip up the Brexit agreement and remain inside the EU if it so decides.
Britain can re- do a sound, soft, safe, and well worked out Brexit down the road... properly !!!
**Reads title** Nice to see the media are still impartial
this is not her own mess, this is British people's mess
How? red shoes comes to mind.
This was always going to be messy regardless of who's in charge.
Genius Boris knew what to do when rejected pm post.
Tories. What a joke!
Labour are no better since their only reason for voting against this remain deal is to sabotage the government. Nothing short of dictats and traitors the lot of 'em.
It was the Tories who created this mess by having a referendum in the first place!!
@sickpuppy4711 Doesn't alter the fact that it was the Tories who called the referendum and that split the country causing the mess we are now in.
@blackkey1976 straight out of the daily mail that one aye?!
@@MegaRockstar48 I would only buy the Daily Fail, Express, etc if they printed them on softer paper, at least then I could find a use for them!
Brexit is at best just plain bad for the UK and at worst a disaster. The deal she got was, in my opinion pretty generous and no one would have done better. The issue isn't May or not May but the very stupid act of breaking away from the EU.
hear hear
Why is it bad ?
mari chan the EU is falling apart
mari chan every one here talk sheet if Eu finish ? Every think is finish in England and England go just bad and bad
The EU is a joke Mari , it is HUGELY unpopular
Okay for the American here... Why don't the Royals weigh in on this? Do they have no say in the UK government? I am genuinely asking here.
To be fair, she never wanted to leave the EU in the first place, now she's stuck trying to clean up the mess left behind by all the people complaining
Leadership is not an easy task. From me in Ghana. Mr Mamadou Bendaloue
Or may ask boat, as they together against humanity!!
How Britain went from strength to strength and the media classed it as 'a mess'.
I have read and heard it all EXCEPT why did Cameron call for a referendum in the first place??? I have never seen, or heard, any explanation from any quarter. Reply's are welcome.
paul, I think it was pressure from the right wing of his party.
@@giftgamer4621 They got what they wanted.
A bit mess.
All resigned, gone into hiding.
Mission accomplished.
putting a remainer in charge of brexit was never gonna end well
oh the deal's gonna be so easy peasy they said.
How ? By incompetence ..
I blame Gove for this mess.
Did anyone else notice how they took a shot at our impartial judiciary?
Checkers, while the EU were playing chess. No wonder I suppose.
So basically if Gina Miller had not taken this to court then May would have been able to have put this deal through without consulting or putting it into any kind of vote
The people are sovereign in this issue not Parliament.
If only she showed the same determination for keeping her job as negotiating with EU.
All the big businesses are leaving the UK.
It was the dancing that did her in.
She is a MESS ..... 😱
What’s the mess?
I think people who berate Theresa do not understand the consequence of border control on the Irish Border. The backstop might need to become a permanent solution and the Ireland to finally unify
This cow is totally out of it
As an Indian, I know Britishers intentionally fk things up when leaving something.
Fascinating piece of History. I wish we had multiple political parties in the US. We simply have one boring party with two factions who break their necks to be the ones who spend the most money.
very well pointed out May not her fault but nobody waanted to support is a shame really
Theresa is a very bright leader
Because she never wanted to leave the EU
Think about what has happened since she took over..... wow...
Sorry if this seems like a simple question but I'm American so I don't know the intricacies of U.K politics.
Did she originally want to leave the E.U before she became the Prime Minister or did the responsibility of Brexit get placed on her when she took the position?
The latter; she succeeded Cameron in a party-internal election. Not an enviable position, given the impossible task. It's possible she was just opportunistic and wanted the leadership role, so she now presents herself as a Brexiter, but ultimately this looks more and more like political suicide. It's notable how a lot of those who stirred the flames have since withdrawn and excused themselves as the bomb is about to go off.
She is a horrible leader. I wanna see her kicked out of no. 10
I totally agree
Why?
Davy Scales she is a traitorous rsole useless as a home Secretary let in millions more immigrants carried on doing the same as so-called prime minister now Britain is a over populated crime ridden mess courtesy of her and her predecessors.
@@crickcrot Was not her fault it was the EU
Davy Scales May would like to keep Britain under the control of the EU i Personally would rather die than be a traitor to my own country.
im pretty sure its the people who voted that put everyone in this mess
I could do with 39 billion. I could probably feed Africa for a while.
so I don't follow uk news very much so can someone explain if I am understanding this correctly? the country voted for brexit or for the uk to leave the EU and now Theresa May is going against that?
Correct. not only that but all mps from all partys do not want brexit. thay want a second referendum based on mays deal (remain ) or remain. mays deal is not leaving the eu . There were no deals on the ballot paper in the first referendum just leave or remain .we chose to leave the eu and all its institutions. The first referendum result is very clear and does not require clarity just a pm who will implement it .
Basically, but that's dangerously simplified. There's a host of possible problems that May is trying (but will likely fail) to solve. The biggest hurdle is that the UK just dropping out means a hard border between Northern Ireland and the RoI, which means a breach of the Good Friday Agreement, potentially rekindling civil disturbance. Alas, the only alternatives to this are a border between NI and Great Britain, which will be blocked by DUP, or the UK as a whole staying in the Customs Union, which will be blocked by Hardline Brexiteers. In short, it's a mess where any of the available options is going to face a lot of opposition.
Great rather than getting control we're being a colony. Should voted Remain! #peoplevote
Adam Jenkins brexit should be in my opinion : We get to make / our own laws. To trade with countries not asking all EU to say yes. That's all . Don't care bout borders or immigrants . Let them be.
What do we do with this woman, how do we get rid of her.....
she is a traitor
we will not forget
The mess was caused by Cameron running scared from UKIP, he should have grown a pair and faced UKIP down.
Can't convince the EU. Can't convince the Parliament. Can't convince Brexiteers. Can't convince Remainers. Damn, who would want to be the Prime Minister in this scenario. Certainly not me. As much as i hate her I also do understand her predicament.
As an Australian spectating on this huge issue from afar, this is an excellent summary
Her name will be written in history as a most successful female politician of the world..!
SHE CAN'T GET IT RIGHT THEN ----NO DEAL - TELL THE EU TO SHOVE IT
Boris was trying to decide which side would be most beneficial to him personally until the last moment. Then decided to go with leave and hoped it would boost his political career. He bet on the wrong horse.
I think she's having a nervous breakdown....
my fackin car has had more breakdowns
the fackin robot is fackin malfuctioninggggggggggg
Strong and stable... a laughing stock would have been more appropriate
None of this matters. We'll leave the EU on 29th March 2019 without an agreement. Simples.
Because David Cameron, spat his dummy out and resigned. When that happened, a Brexiteer PM should have been appointed and then we would have got on smoothly with exiting the EU.
Normally, a CV is presented and an interview required in the commercial and service sector before the appointment of any new employee. PM May has proven that she is totally unsuitable material for ANY parliamentary position. PM May not good at contracts...where is the clause in the DUP £1,000,000,000 bribe that returns our tax payers money if they fail to support her crazy schemes? How did SHE approve this expenditure? Surely it would have to be approved by parliament? May not good at negotiation...The EU deal can only be a deal offered by the EU to ensure the UK is controlled for ever. No sane PM would have agreed to this insane offer!
One Ireland!
She wanted strong and stable, she got weak and feeble.
Brexit - Love Europe, Hate EU
Some of the MP's who supported her (for the sake of the UK ???)
Mandleson £673 EU pension
Kinnock £1,700,000 EU pension
Tugendhat £796,000 EU pension
Patten £777,539 EU pension
Ashton £ 328,000 EU pension
Heseltine £90,000 Farming subsidy
For the sake of the UK my arse more like for their own greed. Its about time we cleared out the sewer
This piece of paper has all the similarities of Munich and Chamberlain about it, Hitler couldn't believe his luck when we just rolled over and gave him everything he wanted....
Time to give way to J.R.Mogg, for the Brexit where we voted for.
Don't know why,but I kind of feel May Is the H.clinton of the UK🤔
May means disaster, she looked really young then
All very carefully planned there are a few more moves to make yet ! But hopefully it can be won at the eleventh hour & we leave with no deal !
I hope brexit does not happen
Yeah because democracy shouldn't count this time huh?
Another one who does not respect or believe in democracy. We voted out, and Brexit is what we will get am afraid, like it or lump it
Simin Taheri I don’t want it to happen either but it must, that’s democracy.
Sick and fed up with conservatives, don't trust the Labour either... What a mess our country is in... Unbelievable..
..
They are almost one in the same, same here in the usa. Also the huge bureaucracy is a joke in government. My barber here in the states is an ex pat from uk and he's pro brexit and he thinks a war is going to happen over there.
She is trying to placate both sides of the debate by trying to leave and remain. Predictably, she has pleased neither and pulled the vote. If remain has prevailed in June 2016, there would have been scant regard for the leave voters. More than likely, she would have taken it as a mandate to sign up for all of the EU schedule and signal the end of the UK. The Brexit battle would be nothing, compared to the anger over that!
PORTUGAL CARALHO!! after seeing the coments this is the one that is missing. Represent caralho! I forgot, nice and informing video btw :)
How did she end up in this mess, by being a bad leader
She. should now go to this cafe and meet her MP Sarah Wollaston together with the Conservative Chief Whip. Sarah posed as a Leave supporter but emerged after election as a Remain supporter.
Sarah should agree to resign causing a by-election early in the New Year. She sits for a safe Conservative seat. A Conservative Leave candidate should also be put forward, and the other Parties and their supporters in the town can do as they please.
Boris Johnson for next prime minister
In my humble opinion she ended up in this position because she didn't listen to people. I can see a couple of examples of what she's done in the past two years that have given people the impression that she doesn't care about what they think like her visit to Scottish people and never talking to anyone about the Irish border issue. I could go on but it's about her as much as its about the bad deal she brought back.
She's trying still
