      Colin Hughes . The deal with never get through Parliament as the backstop is not the only issue that needs cast iron legal changes and the corrupt EU says it won’t move and the DUP will not put up with “ tinkering around the edges “ as Arlene Foster put it. The DUP will not bend to this crap deal and if the people have got any sense neither will they. Tell me what did we already have, unlimited immigrants, being ruled by a foreign court, being dictated to by an unelected, undemocratic power crazy union, our fishing industry decimated, our farming industry decimated small businesses going to the wall when we joined the single market because they were suddenly hit with mountains of rules and regulations, oh and paying them £10 billion a year for the privilege. They haven’t had their accounts audited and signed off for almost 20 years and now the MEP,s don’t have to declare their expenses, they just spend without any control. Just remember a lot of our money pays for that and as a taxpayer I don’t like it one bit, everything should be accountable otherwise it is easy for fraud to be committed. Even when people say that we get x amount of money back from the EU just remember it’s our own money coming back to us, so it’s not a gift as we payed it in the first place.

The MPs, many of whom only want to push their own agenda of another referendum 🙄, rant and squabble, and the MSM gets excited. May stalls the meaningful vote, waffles a bit more, tries to try improve the agreement, delays some more, tick tock, tick tock. Meaningful Vote eventually happens and fails, Brexit means Brexit and is delivered as promised on 29 March with no agreement. The UK keeps 39 billion, May resigns the following day.. New leader elected (probably Boris), govt gets to negotiate a trade deal in a strong position, following the general election approx around September 2019. I am thoroughly entertained by it all

There were no deals on the ballot paper in the first referendum just leave or remain .we chose to leave the eu and all its institutions. The first referendum result is very clear and does not require clarity just a pm who will implement it .

    • @ddshiranui
      @ddshiranui Před 5 lety

      Basically, but that's dangerously simplified. There's a host of possible problems that May is trying (but will likely fail) to solve. The biggest hurdle is that the UK just dropping out means a hard border between Northern Ireland and the RoI, which means a breach of the Good Friday Agreement, potentially rekindling civil disturbance. Alas, the only alternatives to this are a border between NI and Great Britain, which will be blocked by DUP, or the UK as a whole staying in the Customs Union, which will be blocked by Hardline Brexiteers. In short, it's a mess where any of the available options is going to face a lot of opposition.

    Normally, a CV is presented and an interview required in the commercial and service sector before the appointment of any new employee. PM May has proven that she is totally unsuitable material for ANY parliamentary position. PM May not good at contracts...where is the clause in the DUP £1,000,000,000 bribe that returns our tax payers money if they fail to support her crazy schemes? How did SHE approve this expenditure? Surely it would have to be approved by parliament? May not good at negotiation...The EU deal can only be a deal offered by the EU to ensure the UK is controlled for ever. No sane PM would have agreed to this insane offer!

    She is trying to placate both sides of the debate by trying to leave and remain. Predictably, she has pleased neither and pulled the vote. If remain has prevailed in June 2016, there would have been scant regard for the leave voters. More than likely, she would have taken it as a mandate to sign up for all of the EU schedule and signal the end of the UK. The Brexit battle would be nothing, compared to the anger over that!

    She. should now go to this cafe and meet her MP Sarah Wollaston together with the Conservative Chief Whip. Sarah posed as a Leave supporter but emerged after election as a Remain supporter.
    Sarah should agree to resign causing a by-election early in the New Year. She sits for a safe Conservative seat. A Conservative Leave candidate should also be put forward, and the other Parties and their supporters in the town can do as they please.

    In my humble opinion she ended up in this position because she didn't listen to people. I can see a couple of examples of what she's done in the past two years that have given people the impression that she doesn't care about what they think like her visit to Scottish people and never talking to anyone about the Irish border issue. I could go on but it's about her as much as its about the bad deal she brought back.
