Gura accidentally became the face of Vtubing culture. If not *the* face she’s up there. I can’t imagine the amount of pressure she’s under. Having that status put on her when she probably thought all she’d do is play games, sing, and whatnot with her genmates. Burnout is so hard to deal with but even more hard when you have that kind of attention on you.
Not to mention, being the face of EN means being the fan filter of EN. You get far more of the people who are not there to support a content creator, just there to demand entertainment.
Theres also the fact that she was the most famous face in hololive she must've felt like she needed to keep up with the expectation placed on her there's also the fact that recently she became the tourist representative for a city in japan

Some people think that being burnt out is not legit reason because she still roll out some content from collabs and such. For me, she can just go full hiatus like what Haachama done before, but didn't do it because she still felt responsible for that long list of schedule that she got, especially when she is the top member of Holo EN. That's commendable.
It is always the same story: People that are well situated always think burn out or psychological obstacles are no serious problems. Funnily enough, those people mostly didnt have to work themselfs for even half their well being.
Seriously dude if you check out the last she streams she did before her burnout, the amount of people in the comments that was calling her out because she hasn't streamed in a while. Like seriously, you think Gura doesn't have her own life too worried about than just with yours, let's be real here
I miss her too but I'm not complaining, she needs her rest. I just spent my time arguing with people who don't consider Gura being 2nd most Seiso in HoloMyth.

it’s so confusing how many gura fans loved her for her fun quips and interesting stories but don’t realize when you spend too much time streaming and not enough time living your life you run out of fun stories to tell and conversation points you’ve already tread over again and again. people say streaming is just playing games, but if that was the case, anyone could get famous doing it, no? really it’s entertaining an audience, a skill gura is particularly good at. if she just kept streaming through her burnout, no doubt that commentary we love would have gotten naturally stale, and you’d be hearing the same complaints you’re hearing from fans now. “i can tell guras tired of streaming, just go ahead and graduate,” etc etc. i can’t wait for the stories we hear once she’s back at 100%, no matter how long it takes her
burnout is a common thing for every profession. i honestly dont watch Gura streams but i completely understand why she did what she probably needed to do. i hope the best for every content creator in the streaming platform cause it can be a drag for the streamer at times.
it shouldn't be puzzling how people can be so confident, commenting away, without knowing what being burnt out can mean. Most never experience it - fortunately.
But at the bare minimum, it makes you wonder how much intelligence does someone need to be kind?
Modern Western culture is telling you that the world owes you and if they deprive you of what you think you deserve than they're the problem and your the victim. An age of entitlement
Even Ame got burned out after the 3rd anniversary, and she doesnt have the pressure of 20k+ viewers every stream, tbh its better that the more casual viewers go away, she doesnt really need more public for everyday streams.
Casual viewers are fine if they're not causing problems. I've seen several of her members also trashing on her. Between random people saying bad things vs the Shrimps who were supposed to have your back say bad things, she's got it rough. Of course the supportive people always bury those comments though.
@grimoireweiss3099 Yeah, it's a bit wild how many shrimps are not "supporting a content creator" but "paying for content".
A good way to get more Gura is to not give Gura trouble for taking breaks from being Gura.
There are 80+ hololive talents to enjoy while she has a break, Akai haato recently took an 8 month break. We will be here when she gets back with open arms :)

I want to make sure Hololive is their permanent home and job and will male sure they're happy doing it. It's a give and take relationship.
It's an easy equation: Preserving your workforce by taking breaks when necessary means you sustain it for longer, and in the end get more out of it.
Even if you were to only regard the creator as a content machine (as much as I despise that kind of """fan""") it's in your own best interest for them to take care of themselves.
@@SKy_the_Thunder On the other hand gura doesnt have forever to be burnt out. She might need to decide if she wants to quit or not. It doesnt make sense for hololive to have 200 members. Some need to start quitting or new ones need to stop being introduced.
Plenty of industries have been killed by establishing rival brands in the same company that do nothing but compete against each other.

@@thevictoryoverhimself7298 Hololive has massively slowed down recruitment for that very reason. Advent and ReGloss are the first new blood in almost 2 years (aside from HoloStars), compared to years like 2020, which saw the debut of 5 whole generations.
And I'll be honest, your first paragraph sounded dangerously close to abusive labor practices of "burn through your talents so you can throw them out in favor of new ones." That's pretty much the approach Nijisanji is currently failing with.
We have established cases like Coco and Sana where the talents didn't feel like Hololive was the right place for them, so the out is there. But Gura seems to genuinely love being part of Hololive. Just gotta scale her workload so she doesn't get overwhelmed, and take breaks if needed.
Appreciate that Gura told honestly about the situation - cause it was pretty obvious that it is some variation of "dont want to do it anymore", but trying to hide it behind silly excuses was my main problem with Gura. The reason itself is quite understandeable, cause it is indeed pretty hecking hard job. Being squeezed between interpersonal relationships with colleagues, corporate requirements, personal life and maintaining public appearance - I would never be able to do all of these things, like it would not even be close. So in this regard I kinda admire her resolve and willpowers. But now being honest is very good thing to do, I think. So just for it - sending
being burnt out at something aint no joke, let alone if its job related. Its mentally and physically taxing so im just happy for her to be just taking a break. But maybe one thing Gura could do for her fans is at least reassure them on whats up, theres a limit to how long you can leave your fans alone without prior communication, and she was gone without any updates for weeks and pops out here and there on collab streams. its inevitable to be not concerned to our dorky shark girl.

It's understandable. A lot of big CZcamsrs like Pewdiepie, Jacksepticeye, and Ryan Higa also faced burnout and needed to take a break. Heck, even I who just started CZcams channel already face burnout, thinking so hard about what to post on CZcams. Just make sure you come back stronger 💪

It really been a long time for her to the point she back to her shy and reserved attituted like she was back then in year 1. I was kinda expecting her to pick a fight with chat again or go on another banter.
Knowing Gura was (or is still?) in Japan, she's definitely too worked out with the projects with Cover like for instance the song with Marine and other stuff she was doing.
But still I'm glad she's doing well either way.

When you are starting to get burnt out, the gaps between get longer and longer. The breaks are caused because of burnout.

Yes, burnout. Gura isn't a very extroverted person and her rapid growth put a lot of pressure on her to perform which led to her taking breaks to recover and de-stress. Her hiatus from streaming was something she needed
@@Sathzur No i get that part, the expectancy of ppl from her because of her quick growth, but that was for ger first year mostly. She hasn't been consistant in really anything these past 2 years and watching how everyone literally break their backs and give everything they can and more for their fans and then comes Gura saying she feels burn out after putting a fraction of the work everyone else has put... it feels a bit insulting that's all. Now i get everyone is different but in my opinion i feel she just doesn't have a passion for vtubing/being a vtuber, but more like being a fan of it.
