About:
Jason and Lorraine. In 2016 we sold most of our belongings and left the city in southern California to start a small homestead in the mountains of North Carolina. We left the city in search for a more minimal and intentional life. We became passionate about growing our own food and knowing what exactly is in our food after I (Jason) became diagnosed with cancer. Now 8 years in remission we as a family are on a journey to live our passions.
We document our life on CZcams videos to inspire others to get out of their comfort zone and not be afraid of change. We started our own online general store where we have available the things we make and use in real life. Thank you for following us on this incredible life changing journey!
Love your channel, you and your family inspire me and my family to take risk and learn how to start homesteading thank you for all that you do on your channel Ya'll are amazing!!!!!
Hi Tamara! Thanks for saying Hi! All the best to you guys. We appreciate it! thanks!
Tambra Dugger my family is taking this journey as well. Sending positive energy. May we all be successful and happy. Namaste 🙏🏻
Who are the grinches who gave this video a thumbs down????
Father/Daughter matching carts! ;) Love it!
Absolutely love how you made your daughter a kid sized matching one!!! So amazing!!
Great project! Love your little helper and that she has her own cart. Cuteness overload.
When Penelope came up behind you with her cart was so funny. Great build.
The ending was the best part! Cool cart, I’ve got an axle and wheels so I’ll have to give it a try!
Looks awesome! I want to build something similar for my farm stall so I can move it. Thanks for the great video
Great that you made your daughter a small cart!
Thank you so much. Excellent video. To the point. Not trying to be a youtube star by yacking away nonsense. Just perfect.
you're such a great dad...Penelope has her own, a mini-version! Thanks for sharing Jason!
Love the kid sized cart as much, or more, than the original!
2 carts, for big and small loads is better than just 2 carts, I love the design, so much better than buying in a shop, Thanks Jason for sharing.
I just started watching your channel last week, and I am finding a great deal of useful information. Thank you and God Bless!!
Looks good. I love how you made a miniature one too!
Yes yes yes love its another project for me as my proper wheel barrow is cactus. Thank you for sharing great video it needs more shares 👍
Good job you two ☺️ .... Thanks for sharing your days .
That's was just so cool and making one for your daughter she will remember that all her life - great design my dad made one years ago from store designs also his had back plate to slide up if dumping a load and he used bigger tires and same aluminium edging also - again great job - lucky little girl!
Thank you so much. These are the best instructions I found so far and have watched a lot of videos.
Cool. I think I need to try to do this. I have so much mulch to spread on my trees this year. Something like this would work a lot better than my wheelbarrow.
Very cool! Garden cart for big and little people! Everyone is busy with tools that fit! Excellent. ❤️
thanks Cassity!
i felt a nice comforting atmosphere throughout the video.
Very nice carts. I like that everything was carefully thought out.
Love the matching carts! Justin Rhodes was looking for a way to secure wheels to his meat-chick-shaw, maybe he’ll see this!
Awesome build. And the mini Cart is really cute.
NICE! One tip for when cutting all thread....first put a hex nut behind your cut so that when you spin it off it cleans up the burrs on the threads. Makes it a lot easier to start the finish nut.
yeah, that sounds like a good idea! thanks for the tip!
Nice job
Love watching you folks.
I like the idea of the smaller one for the daughter. God Bless
love both carts another good job congrats
Love the how to video. Your videos are very motivating.
Love your family..awesome job on the cart
Nice Job, the aluminum edging makes it a much nicer cart. But the ending, where you built one for your daughter stole my heart.. very nice!!!!
thank you! Yeah, that was a fun build!
Thank you for this. I was most curious about the wheels. you have answered all my questions 🎉
Jason you do such nice work, very detail oriented and careful. Taking the time to add the metal edging will make it more durable and last longer. Great job.
thanks guys!
great job. Just the axle that I needed for my project...
That is so awesome!! Penelope has one to!! ♥️
I love your land! Beautiful! Beautiful build too!
nice; exactly what I want to do to build a small trash cart/trailer that I can tow to the dump. I don't want to risk trash in my van... I would probably use an old cart and modify; but I may have to register it if I have to use my car to tow.
thank you for a great tutorial. We wanted to make a cotton candy cart . This is a perfect . Now we know how to install the wheels. Very cute cart for you and your little girl.
Like your cart very much, but I must say Penelope's is adorable!
Thanks for showing how you did the axle! nice editing and music as well
Awesome! Been thinking of making one but didn't have a starting point. Thanks big time!
Very well done and I love that Penelope has her own
thanks Eric!
I'd like to say the cinematography in this video is fantastic!
The cart itself looks wonderful too!
Thank you very much!
Awesome stuff. I love it.
Loved it!
Great diy kart. Thanks for sharing
Omgosh! That mini one
Adding the aluminum made it look so professional! The edges are what rots first from weather, and the aluminum will help it to last much longer. Great job. Sharing!
Ahhhhh sooooo cute! I LOVE them both! Please tell Penelope hers is my favorite though! Oh my goodness so super cute! You are an amazing and creative builder! Great job Jason!
thanks for watching Lisa and i hope you have a nice day!
Very nice cart! Hoping I can get hubby to build me one for carrying feed and water to animals.
Just what I needed! Thanks! I am building wheels for my generator.
That is so cute!
Fantastic video, I have plans for something similar to hold my animal feed and water buckets, hopefully making morning chores much quicker, all the best
OK...I MUST get more tools for the hubby this father's day!! He loves building something and I like what he builds! Will definitely show him your video !!! :)
Thanks Ann! :)
Love the little secret at the end. You gave no hints. Good job!
Looks great!!!
Hi..... Jason nice to see you and nice garden cart, thank you for sharing your video homestead chicken farmer garden 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 👕🐔🐓🐥🌱🎥👍👍👍
Another great project Mr Jason, little Miss is quite the assistant. All the best and God Bless
yeah, she likes to help! thanks!
So cute and easy to make 👍 thank you
Very nice. Thank you for sharing.
Thats a great garden cart. I like your style.
thanks guys!
Love your videos👍
I was going to say to sand down the edges of the aluminum so no hands get cut. but you did it. awesome. love the mini me cart for your little sprout. even more awesome. maybe your youngin cat decorate it with stickers and paint.
To add more strength to the four walls, I would suggest cutting a rabbet or dado (recessed troughs) into them with a router or table saw. Then glue where you join them, followed by the screws.
Very well done
Really nice! ✌
Great ending!
Great vid. very clear and simple.
thank you Dennis!
I wanted to know how to install wheels and this was a great way to do it 😊.
Super nice job!
Gary McKenzie thanks Gary!
You are a very good Carpenter Bravo
thank you!
That looks simple enough.
Pretty good
VERY useful!!! Thank you :-D
Nice-- I am Going to Get Mr. Bird to Make us one... Love It ... Smile....Ninette Bird- The Caribbean Wife.
Thank so much ❤️💪
Great build. One thing, you will want to get away from treated lumber for gardening. It would be best to get pine or cedar, and if you still don’t feel confident of the raw wood, throw some food safe uv protection. (Most of it is food safe but ask when buying it) have had mine for 8 years. Always add a sealant coat to keep it looking nice. Granted I need a bigger one now, still a good cart. I like the axel on this build. 👍🏽
Awesome cards. Kansas
wow!
Getting more creative to lol good job
Good. Cool. 👍👍👍
I found your very well done video of your well built garden cart while looking for ideas to build a cart for myself. I like your cart but am confused by how far forward you positioned the wheels thus making the user lift and carry the load instead of just pushing it.
Amazing Carts! Penelope's is so cute! If you make these and set at the road In front of your house... people will buy! Excellent workmanship!😊
1/2 in plywood sides would make it lighter still be really strong with the aluminum....
Nice build
Wow, Jason, you do such beautiful work! I watched you make the bus for Justin and admired you tremendously. Great job.
Too cute
Move the axel closer to the handle, in the middle of cargo box. It will become much easier.
I primarily watched this to see how you added axle/wheels to your cart as I'm considering doing that on a planters bench I have. Your video was so pleasing to watch, from the calmness in your instructions to the pleasant music. Also appreciated that you used most basic DIY tools. The cart came out great and the finale with your little girl and her cart was the cutest!!
Dude this is my next build. So grateful for you, your family, and this channel.
Nicely built! Looks like it'll serve its purpose a long time
Nice simple design, thanks. Where did you get the wheels? and what diameter are they?
Nice build... from where did you get the wheels for the cart? Is this information included on the plans you have?
I love it...daddy/mommy size and daughter size...
🌻Happy Wednesday🌻
I loved the end with the daughter father cart
Nice one! I built a cargo trailer for my bicycle out of an old child trailer, and never thought of using it to carry things around in the yard! I just need to modify it a bit to maybe add a large caster in the center and put on some handles... ideas, ideas!
Nice! Are wheels with ball bearings?
These carts should last you for years! Just wanted to let you know that wheel chair wheels would work just as well, if you find a pair for cheap. Slightly bigger diameter, and they have hard rubber tires. Companies that refurbish wheel chairs may discard the old ones and give them away for free. Also, a piece of tire tread cut from an old car tire could be glued & screwed to the bottom of the front support legs. This would keep the legs from directly contacting wet soil. Look forward to seeing you use these carts!
OBRIGADO
It could be converted to a coop on wheels too if you add a door, wire and tarp! I love this cart!
But where's the Momma bear cart? Another goodie, thanks STL.
@sowtheland What blade do you use to cut the aluminum? Can I use the wood blade or do I need to use the metal blade?
Metal blade would be better but wood blade works too. I used the wood blade. thanks!
