- My First Ever overnight Solo Stealth Hammock Camping and what better test than doing it in a ghost town Centralia PA when a severe winter storm IZZY hits the East Coast. This was very random! Just a few hours before Winter Snow Storm IZZY hits Pennsylvania I said to my wife I think I'm going out to test out this Hammock and Thermal Under-quilt. Her response - " Your Nuts - You Better Not Die". Seriously I wasn't sure if it was the best of ideas - But once the thought of doing it entered my mind the wheels started turning.
I arrived in Centralia PA just 2 1/2 hours before the storm hit. It was 19 degrees and a feels like 10 degrees. The wind was around 4 mph BUT once the storm was in full force they were calling for 20 - 30 mph winds.
I drove around the abandoned town looking for the perfect spot or at least one that would do.
I wont give it all away so go ahead and watch the video and if you enjoy it I would love it if you would support the channel by subscribing and leaving me a comment. I answer Ever Comment - I really appreciate others taking their time to leave me a comment and becoming a part of the 2.0 family!

Wow. This was something else Tony, I'm not exactly sure how to characterize this film and i say that in the best of ways! This was literally a "Random Adventure". At times i got a Blair Witchy vibe, other moments had comedic touches. Combine that with a survival video and interesting musical selections. This was very entertaining, from my perspective, and thats difficult to do with a film this long. I enjoy how you tell the story always with a mischieivous twinkle in your eye, and appreciate the creativity and effort you put into your work. As someone who has never slept in a hammock set up I have an excellent idea what that experience is like now. More than anything I appreciate your creativity, and the moxie it takes to decide to throw up a hammock in the middle of a ghost town on fire, during a snowstorm, surrounded by crazies playing paint ball... and if it sounds like a plot that is hard to believe, it kinda is hard to believe, except you lived it and we watched you do it. Also liked the asmr sound of the rain/snow hitting the tarp, and what was up with the car pulling right up to yours overnight, and the other random person who came by around 33:55? Loved this my friend and thank you for sharing.
Walter thank you so much for all the insights to this adventure. Really appreciate that. Hearing how it came across as you watched is very helpful and personally gratifying.
Very Random is right. After a night like that for a 1st time in a hammock ever I think I'm broke in. Lol
Your insight and knowing your channel and what you produce, again thank you Walter for the kind words about this video.
Take care my friend! ✌️👉👌 Out
@@randomadventures2.0 Happy to provide the feedback! I really enjoyed this adventure!
I'm gonna call him the alright guy because before he does anything he says "alright", man's a beast.
Tom I did not realize I said it that much until after I had the stroke and I was in the rehab area and I was saying alrighty
This video is just as good as your current ones. Editing is better now and your content is very consistent. You can see the joy of Christ in your face.
I really appreciate that Johnny Amen brother
Well, this video just proves that you can indeed teach an old dog new tricks. I, of course, had heard of people playing paintball, but I had never heard it called "airsoft" because I had never heard of airsoft guns... because I have apparently been living in a cave. I had to Google airsoft! Who knew? Well, obviously, not me! I enjoyed watching this video and the falling snow was a special touch. So nice of you to coordinate that with the weatherman so we would be entertained! 😐
Thank you so much for watching greatly appreciate that and yes I didn't know that Airsoft was a thing until my son started doing it however I guess shooting each other with little pellets is better than
I don’t know how many times I said , “he’s crazy “ to Dave while we were watching ! LoL 😂 glad everything went well - and you’re back home safe and sound!
Lol Katie still can't quite feel my finger tips. But, safe back at home thinking of where next. :) Really appreciate Dave and your support!

You truly made it feel like we were camping out there with you!! Amazing job recording, talking us through all the steps of set up and what’s happening next, showing your surroundings, and your editing skills to put it all together for us to watch. Those pine trees looked beautiful! The lasagna didn’t look bad either 😂 great job dad! Can’t wait to show the kids this one ☺️
Racky! Awesome thanks for watching and commenting. I was wearing the hat you and the kids got me for Christmas. Love you, Dad
I got cold just watching this !
LOL I watched it again the other day and I got cold too brought back memories

Well hopefully you get a chance to get back out and do one Easton PA and about 5 hours from Pittsburgh I really appreciate you watching the videos thanks my friend
This was my first ever hammock trip. Have you ever winter hammock camped?
Ya the wondering woodsman Cliff mentioned you hope all is well or at least getting better. Cool video
Robert I thank you so much for coming over to the channel and checking us out very grateful for cliff and and his channel for mentioning my channel I am so grateful to have you over
Defiantly a Random adventure for sure. You got some cahoonas to sleep out there in the dead of winter lol. Let alone in a blizzard. Nice adventure Tony thanks for taking us with you!!
Hey Bob actually around 10pm thought I made a huge mistake knowing sunrise wasn't for another 9 plus hours away and the worst of the wind hadn't yet started. But leaving wasn't an option even it I wanted too with the road conditions. So needless to say my 1st ever hammock overnight was a success and definitely broke me in for the next Random Adventure. Right? Thanks for watching and commenting! Always enjoy your comments brother. Tony
Yep, I agree with Lisa, you're nuts. What an epic hammock experience though especially your first time out. I agree with Katie too. I have said to myself, watching one of your videos, he's crazy. Even post stroke, I am still saying it.
lol I couldn't feel the tips of some of my fingers for weeks!
I love going camping in the winter. But I used to have the equipment to do it . LOL
The only thing I don't like about winter camping is my hands get cold and it makes everything harder LOL
Like I said, I have a crazy friend! Nuts in the head! Great video Tony!
Thanks Buddy I've got an extra hammock when your in the area again. Lol
@@randomadventures2.0 I'll take you up on that
Cool video. Great location
Yes definitely a great location thank you brother glad you enjoyed it
Liked the video I just bought a tarp and hammock myself
I am really impressed with mine it is one of the most comfortable things I've ever slept in
That was pretty cool Tony !! Watching you brave the elements through the night !! Glad you didn’t freeze into a ice cube 🧊 out there ! Them mountain house lasagna meal is pretty good, I also love the spaghetti and meat sauce !! Nice job braving the elements !!
Indian hammock believe it or not this is my very first time overnight in a hammock and what better time to pick than when a storm is coming up the East Coast LOL but yes this was my first hammock trip and I thoroughly enjoyed it
Fascinating about Centralia. Also "fascinating" ... that you endured that weather. Loved your quip, "just hanging out" yep. Your sure were: in a hammock! I got seasick watching lol 😆
That is great door I can't believe I'm just seeing this comment after 7 days wow Hey thanks for watching that was my 1st trip overnight in a Hamburg ever now I'm hooked
I got colder the more I watched. Glad you had a good time. See you in the next crazy Random Adventure 2.0
My very first over night and it was so 🥶
Those tire tracks right up to your car is kinda scary.. Almost like they were trying to block you in but then gave up eventually,,,
That was really freaky in the morning seeing those tracks
Imagine if they were cougar tracks and it was scoping you out in the middle of the night just a hanging piece of food 😅🤣 thanks for the video I subbed and appreciate your comment on my stealth video.
Bagged meal. That was crazy how there was car tracks that pulled up to my car at night. Subbed to you as well looking forward to seeing more. Have a stealthy day brother!
Nice video. I’ve been to that area many times. Camped there a few times also. Glad you were able to brave the cold. Enjoy and be safe out there!
Thank you brother that was a cold one I could not feel my finger tips for 2 weeks
Wow, looks like a pretty memorable trip! We visited the graffiti highway about 5 years ago. Quirky place. Folks there with spray paint cans and their kids like they were having a family day.
Hi Sueb, definitely memorable and to be honest a scary at times with the 20 - 30 mph Winds. Graffiti Hwy is all covered now.
Wow Tony this one is crazy! I started at my lunch break and i cant wait to finish this! Who needs discovery Channel when you got random adventures!...2.0!!
Hey Joe, thanks for the comment 👍. Can't wait for you to finish watching. At 3am in the video was a really rough time with the 20 - 30 mph Winds!!!
@@randomadventures2.0 just finished it man that was intense to watch! Great video!
I know right! Thanks for the comments Joe! ✌️👉👌
How weird! I was looking up centraila to see if camping was allowed and your video popped up😂 I’ve always wanted to get there. I got a video coming up next week of me spending a few days at Austin dam and paper mill! Good to see ya and your video. Any tips on where to camp safest and where you are allowed to go in there!
Hey LB yes that is a pretty busy area at night and I don't think it's all above board. It's a little weird up there but the spot I found and did a camp on twice is not bad but definitely there's a lot of weird traffic that drives up and down those roads after dark. You should shoot me an email my email is down below in the description of the video and that way I can give you my number and you can give me a call
@@randomadventures2.0 sounds great I will! I love camping on places that have history. I will be putting out the Austin dam one next Friday hopefully👍🏼
AWESOME video
+Joanne Belliveau That was a fun one
Ought to come to the St Louis, Mo area and go to Times Beach.Mo.. Town shut down yrs ago.
Yeah just watch the documentary on that area thanks for sharing looks like they made it into a park now
Tony Eddy from weiser Forest remember the snow is your friend the rain your enemy
Tony the animal track was a fox
Thank you my friend and you are correct and that's good to know it was a fox track
that was a little too risky. broad daylight. out in the open. on private property. glad to see your future vids became a little more camping with steve stealthy lol
Yeah fortunately with the snow I knew there would be no chance of anybody coming to this spot so yeah some are riskier areas than others
@@randomadventures2.0 omg lol this comment was meant to go on your busted at walmart video. it must have switched to this video before i finished commenting lol
Now that make sense lol
Really good video. The tire tracks being almost up to your bumper is worrying
Yes the tire tracks were weird
Thank you so much for posting this video, Awesome video, Checking out your channel now, Subbed.
I just finished a stealth a little over a week ago and it was fairly cold.
This video is perfect timing, I am planning a Stealth for Centralia in the next few months, I'm just up in the air on where to park, was thinking about parking and setting up around the Odd Fellows Cemetery
The Mountain House Lasagna with meat Sauce is my favorite Mountain House to date.
Is the hat a “Tilly”?
Hey thank you for the comment 👍
That was a really crazy night in Centralia. I only thought of doing it an hour before I left so zero planning lol. I scouted around a bit but chose the spot for the car because of the snow Storm.
Behind the cemetery would be cool spot/area.
Glad you found the channel. I just Subbed to yours and watched the turnpike stealth on New Years Eve. Great video.
👀
Thanks appreciate it
Reply to your message went on your next video , I have trouble with touch screen because of nerve damage , aren’t we fine physical specimens
Very fine lol
Let the meal warm you hands instead of putting it in the backpack.
True! I thought of putting in my jacket as well.
Thanks for watching!
We’re you aware you were showing early signs of stroke during this video
No.. can you share time spot in video
