Bev, saw the title of this video and thought oh no! Howie did very well with what he had to work with. I’m in NY state and it’s just me now.Husband passed away last year and I don’t think he’d be handling what’s going on now very well. This nonsense isn’t going to end well.Blessings to you and Howie.

Prices are still too high and you don't get a lot of bang for the buck, but I know you will make the most out of all of it.
You sound just like me, I always feel like I need to justify getting a few snacks like soda, popcorn, cookies and chips. YOU BOTH DESERVE IT! You guys work too hard to have to justify a little bit of a "splurge" once in a while.

Howie did an excellent job!!! If I send my hubby to Costco, it's amazing what he comes back with, a lot of "extras' 😂 But I would rather roll my eyes at the extras & let him do the shopping every once in a while so that he understands how the price of everything is changing. Now I think he's more aware than I am, lol. I'm glad you got everything put up & didn't have to worry about freaky Friday either. I know you were stressed & needed to just relax. I truly wish we had robaxin here though, cause after being in the garden all day today, I could use one 😂. God bless you ❤

Ditto on reusing the plastic bags Mrs. V, this reminded me of my nana, when my mom and 2 aunts worked at the Kellogg's cereal factory here, the corn flakes, frosted flakes and corn pops they'd buy at employee cost, once empty of the cereal, she'd wash, dry, and then use the plastic bags inside the cereal boxes and save them for wrapping my aunts' and my mom's lunch tortas (like a sandwich but made with an individualized sized baguette.Great Grocery and Meat Haul Mrs. V, Poppa also squeezing that quarter so it will fart a nickel! 👍😂

i def would wash and reuse those bags. they r a godsend. when we delivered newspapers. and got the plastic bags for bagging up the papers. i used those bags (the unused ones) like the ziplock bags. and bagged up my meat and meals to put in the freezer or in the containers and put in my pantry. what a savings!! and those bags also made great hot eater bags u could lay across ur tummy or back if u needed to bc of cramps or pain. or even if u were cold. we did that to save money in the wintertime. kept us warm. and snuggly. gotta donwhat u gotta do tonsave money. when the hurricanes were coming. i would tripple bag those bags add water and freeze them. so if the power wennt out. we had ice. to keep water cold. in the high heat temps of outside.

I know we're hardly eating any--and now I'm trying to get my husband to eat more chicken legs and thighs. I got a 10 pound bag for USD$6.90 last week, and that's a LOT cheaper than the white meat.

Hi there, we get our beef by the slab, and par freeze it and then cut into steaks, for a little less than $100 we get commercial prime rib and cut into steaks, and vacuum seal them. We get about 18 good size steaks and one does the both of us, And if we do 2, then we have enough for breakfast the next day. We found it cheaper buying the slab than buying them already cut up. Just saying. The same we wait for Prime Rib to go on sale, usually in the summer for us here in Ontario. and the wife will get a 7 rib and cut them up and that is our roasts. This is the only cut of meat we really splurge on. And we buy chicken by the case at the Business Centre of Costco's, and again 3 to a pack one for each of us. (mother lives with us) We found it way cheaper to buy it this way. And hubby is the only one who eats pork, my it doesn't agree with my tummy. And of coarse ground hamburger put into 1lb bags. and sometimes l will get another large tube of hamburger and make meat loaf and freeze it, so just pull and bake. Sometimes doing that extra step saves aload of time. Have a great day. And look forward to your next video

They were so tiny they couldn't have been more than 1-2 lbs. They were $12.87. I nearly had a stroke. Guess I won't be buying them anymore. 😢

I reuse bags like that to put my peels from veg , then use it to carry to compost bin, empty bag, fill bag with water then empty the water into compost. Then rinse out and hang to dry and reuse. Ill keep doing this until the bag rips or splits. I have that many now, i use some as rubbish bags, rather than use actual rubbish bags. The garbage bags or bin liners I buy use to be $1.50 for 25, now they are $3.50 for 20 bags. So far i have only had to buy 1 pack because i have been using other bags.

    Greetings from North Carolina
    Mrs V
I feel guilty! Why? Last week I got chicken legs @ 10 lb packages for $5.80, which made my leg (25 in this bag) $0.23 a piece. Since it’s grilling season they go really fast and I am hoping to pick up at least 2 more bags next week. Can it or freeze it… maybe even a little taste for my 4 legged baby.
Beautiful looking beef you had there. I too split the large steaks. There is plenty of protein along with all the fixings.
Just finished canning a dozen eats of corn 🌽 and got 5 half pints and 4 pints. Every deal I get it’s headed for the stockpile one way or the other. I’m watching the first on the vine ripened tomatoes 🍅. Looks like Wednesday. Just a shake of salt and pepper and our summer will have begun!
    Until later Mrs V 25💨 5

I for one didnt eat beef in years, other than ground beef/pork mixed 50/50. But hey yall can afford it so I am not raining on your parade lol Just saying for a person like me and a lot others who got 450 bucks a month to pay for everything inclusive food, power, gas, hygene products, meds, dogfood, car insurance. internet and cellphone clothing as well doing your haul is a no go lol even if I break it in half to feed just one person so 300 bucks. Totally understand! However I had PAID for a side of beef in the fall. I made payments all spring into fall. The farmer has not been able to deliver due to butcher problems. I did not get back what I should have, ( because he overcharge me for the pig) but this shopping was a huge chunk of the money we got back. Otherwise we would not have been able to afford it.
