Do you Guys want me to do a live stream or something to celebrate? I'm not really sure what to do tbf :L
I’m cool with a livestream, what are we streaming?
It's completely up to you but if you do decide upon something may I throw a tactics talk, a battle from Africa during imperialism (the battle at the end of Zulu pherhaps) or something regarding America such as the war of 1812 or battle if bunker hill?
Good video and Edward just needed to know when to stop.
@@garrettallen7427 I was thinking maybe streaming Europa Universalis 4 and playing as a peaceful England or something.
@@krimzonhunt7929 That sounds like a good idea, I'd probably stick to a medieval battle or war as that's more around my area of knowledge.
Embrace historia sounds great!
"Begging your pardon sir, won't we hit our own troops?"
"Yes..but we'll hit theirs as well!"
"Bring me Wallace, alive if possible, dead...just as good"
*Attack*
And that wasn't the last time that archer commander was a bit hesitant to order the archers to shoot into their own lines too.......Remember Ramsay Bolton at the Battle of Bastards.
Out of the 15,000 cavalry, archers and foot soldiers over 10,000 of them were battle hardened Welsh foot soldiers and archers fresh from Edwards Longshanks invasion of Wales. Apparently while Longshanks was encamped near Edinburgh the Welsh was thinking about joining the Scottish army.
wallace went to Italy and france i think to ask for help in this war. and they didnt send troops. the welsh longbows are what defeated william Wallace. that was the deciding factor 100pct.
@@nyelement007 That and the deciding leadership from Longshanks himself. Wallace just wanted to kill the English and wasn’t a good general, unlike Moray who died at Stirling Bridge. Without Moray Wallace was just another killer with a sword who could lead a guerrilla campaign but not a battle. Defeat the Scottish cavalry, destroy their archers then the immobile schiltrons are easy mean for English/Welsh longbows. Good use of tactics later to be used at Crecy et al.
Really cool video. Love that your covering this. (I don't know about Britain) but I never got the chance to learn this is school. Really interesting and proud to include it in the timeline.
Cheers dude, yeah I love medieval and dark age Britain, so much history for a wee isle.
Britain has a rich and proud history. I advice reading about it or finding more videos like this
Edward 1st was an outstanding soldier. A man who had been fighting all his life and one of a very few military commanders with such a long career of leading men in battle who can claim never to have lost a battle where he was in command.
Very true, he was the embodiment of an ideal medieval king, Henry the 5th is another king I rank highly.
@@Embracehistoria And he was not the brutal thug he was portrayed as in Braveheart.
@@englishalan222 aye he wis
@@EwanPB nah
He wasn't more brutal than william wallace or any military leader of the time.
Łukasz Holtz Utter bullshit.
excellent video!
So the longbow was first here? Cool!
Great use of total war👍🏻
Great video and great channel! I'm actually planning on doing this one soon.
I tried making this battle in Bannerlord. It's pretty hard but I'd say I put in effort. I have to say, Mel Gibson made an awesome movie of this war but he forgot many key things......the bridge at Stirling, the extension of more rebellions etc......
Those longbows..... very effective.
FAWWW kirk not fallkirk btw.. my hometown
You know if you're going to attack one of the most modernized, weaponize militaries in the world, it would be best to use Shields!!
I doubt the scottish could afford thousands of shields.....you dont understand anything man. england supplied them with better clothes and supplies. Scotland was very poor and didnt have defensive shields or clothing.
Plus, english had cavalries, like a lot of 'em so it would be better to use pikes than swords and shield.
@@nyelement007 they had armour the lot bro and shields you name it just the better army won on the day long bows for the win isn’t it sir
@@mikewazowski6941 source?
It didn't matter how many had shields, unless you have a literal shield wall you will be hit. Even if you fend off the first few waves, those are English longbows and can easily penetrate steel, so what do you think they do to wood? Scotts were too poor to have bronze/iron plated shields. Still wouldn't make much of a difference.
Hi nice little video - could it be used to help the 725th anniversary Battle of Falkirk event?
Love the videos.. You need to comment on King & Genrals videos to get more subs.
Where did you get the figures for English and Scottish casualties?
Scottish are stronger and greater
They are smarter too.
@@invisible9901 they arent. Go check in wikipedia the story of scotland independence, most of the battles the scots had more man and still managed to loose 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@lolez541 STFU Muppet don't think there was one battle between England & Scotland where Scots had larger Army, Scottish pride was enough. O and btw who's line sits on the throne of England today? That would be Robert The Bruce's line and not long leg Edward the 1st. If you still don't understand the current queen of England is a distant ancestor of The Bruce. Who sat on the throne in England when Scotland joined the Union. A Scot that's who so go read a book or something or stfu. In the 1200s Scotland only had a population of about 1 mill and the English had about 5 mill. England still needed Welch and Irish to stand up to us. English Twat!!!!!
thats why they're independent today right?
@@davidwallace4416 You decided to selectively read history you absolute moron.
They should've unleashed the wild battle haggis and let them run about savaging the knights n terrifying the horses.
It's a well known fact that horses are scared of haggis' ferocious appearance. I think it might be the trunks
No I think it the fact that there legs are longer on one side of their body you have the left sided haggis which can only run up hills and of course the right sided haggis who can only go downhill
I hope I have got that the right way round trying to picture it in my head and I haven't got a clue LOL
I am still undefeated on all battlefields.
These rustic are so inept, it nearly takes the honor out of victory....nearly
Gotta hand it scots r brave but england has smashed so much of the world its crazy
Stirling Bridge.. ?
DON'T NEED TO TALK ABOUT AZINCOURT IN A VIDEO ABOUT SCOTLAND'S WAR !
Come on guy this is too soon, the defeat still stings...
So not what happened in Braveheart
very cool animation - keep it up, but please dont make the historians mistake of ever having pro war dialogue, like bazbattles did. stay at least neutral on it or it becomes opinion not history
I do try to maintain being neutral if not a bit dramatic at times for storytelling effect.
It’s a game
Hahe, you ain't seen an example of that till you watch pagan Vikings videos about with Widukind :p
Don't listen to this guy Historia. Keep doing what you do, you adding your own personality to the videos is what makes them unique.
Wallace and running away seems to be the pattern lol
WTF? o_O
you kiddinhg? english kidnapped him. tarred feathered and sent all his body parts to each corner to warn.. only for king robert to say fuck you edward.. 1314 was born
Sore loser Englishman
@@iMertin90 Wallace was given to Edward I by Scotsmen in Glasgow in 1305 who tried him as a traitor and he suffered the fate of treason. Grim and bloody times. Longshanks son, Edward II was not as good a leader as his father and his poor leadership and the excellent generalship of The Bruce led to his defeat at Bannockburn in 1314. Read books after watching a poor movie if the movie excites your passion in a period of history. I’m English but accept this was 700 years ago and I recognise good and bad on both sides. Not a sore loser😉
this is beautfull
