    This is top tier content, I've actually regressed and got worse at the game recently as I've not been able to play much at all the last couple of months, this kind of content is such a good refresher. keep going

      Glad you enjoyed! My goal is to make these as generic as possible so no matter what set it is you can always come back to it.

    Loved the video! I don’t know if you already planned to talk about this topic, but one thing I‘d like to improve at is playing defensively. More specifically, finding the right time to play blockers and using them effectively to buy me some time

      This definitely might turn into another video if I can find some instances of it in my games, but a lot of finding out where to fit blockers also comes down to understanding curves! In general every time you play a blocker you should have an idea of what kind of attack you are going to use it in.

    I totally agree with the concept of the video and this applies to all card games really! Specifically looking at the example between enel and saka, I would think that if you know your opponent would play Hina into 7c borsa, you’d be fine taking both a lucci and leader hit so you’re at 1 life at the end of the sequence with your leader effect. You would then leader+don into Lucci for 6 and if they block with a 2k they now have 3 cards in hand (1 card less to deal with the Yamato or best case they let it through) and then you play Yamato to pop the Hina + heal.
    That leaves you with Yamato and 2 life and your opponent with 3 cards in hand and 7c borsa and lucci. Objectively, is this a worse play? Because you didn’t block the previous turn you’d have 9 cards in hand and would only need to block 1 of the two attacks from Lucci or Leader (assuming you’d take the Borsa hit) to live which would entail them using Don to win through 9 cards in hand. The following turn you can 8c kata if they don’t swing with borsa, but if they do (by trying to go for game) you can kill their board with Yama+leader and then pick off whatever they played with 8c kata.
    Appreciate the video nonetheless!

      It’s not necessarily a worse play, but it is a little bit more inconsistent. This is a very specific Enel play so I didn’t talk about it too much but leaving the Borsa up gives us less options for future turns. If we had multiple Yamato in hand I can definitely see you playing for cards and taking the hit, but with only one Yamato we really want to set up using it by playing Kata. If our opponent plays something like Becca+Kuzan it’s very difficult to come back from the game without Yamato. But it’s all theoretical and this was a recreation where we just drew a random hand with the cards we needed.

    Hey, great video! Quick question, for the kata play, how come you don't swing with leader into the Lucci first and then play out the kata? Just trying to understand sequencing. I always thought its most ideal to do your swings first then play out characters based on how opponent reacts - thoughts?

    • @emperorpenguinpirates-onepiece
      @emperorpenguinpirates-onepiece  Před 2 měsíci +1

      You should 100% do that! This was just a recreation that me and my friend filmed and I really wanted to focus on the 8 cost Kata Play. In this scenerio I don’t think it matters too much since any good player is going to see 8 don and know what is going on, but you are correct in that you should swing first. If they give up the Lucci you’ve removed pretty much their entire board
