Solina Strings controlled by the DB-01. But why?

The Behringer Solina Strings is controlled by the DB-01. At first blush it seems a bit silly but there are some interesting reasons you might want to try it. And one thing I forgot to mention in the video: The DB-01 is of course in 'scale' mode, in this case E-Minor.

The reverb really makes it sound so atmospheric. That's a neat trick with the arp on the DB-01

Yes, I tried it with a delay and didn't work at all, it needs fuzzy dispersion.

Thanks Richard, you always have some slick cool tricks with the DB-01! 🤩👍 (don't have a Solina even if I've always dreamt of having a vintage one! Meanwhile I got a Waldorf Streichfett a couple of years ago which can almost look the part 😅)

Thanks 2MW, having a nice little sequencer is a good by-product of the DB-01. And for string synths, years ago I would have rejected them immediately as boring but there's something appealing in the simplicity. I see your Streichfett still gets a good outing even after a couple of years.

I just had a listen :D and yes! The Solina just needs a little pitch bend - but I think it has a better edge.

All I can say is where I bought mine from, which is FoundSound in Melbourne Australia: foundsound.com.au/products/27674?_pos=1&_sid=b1bc320a4&_ss=r But it looks like they've sold out the first batch. I was originally told they would land late July, so maybe that's the date for the second batch?
