We are all devotees of MSV I am from Srivaikuntam bank officer. I am listening his music daily minimum 2 hours. Some time with tears i am listening his songs. What a genius he is. U r highly fortunate u were with him. Vaazhthukkal Ananthu.

In 1952 a Hindi film named POONAM was released. The music was composed by the legendary Shankar Jaikishan. There was hit song " Ayee Ayee Raat suhani.
Inspired by the tune, some years later in 1956 Mellisai mannnrgal Viswanathan Ramamurthy composed a song almost similar to the Hindi tune .The film is Mahadevi and the hit song is " Singara punnagai Kannara Kandale" .Incidentally both Hindi and Tamil songs are lullaby. Lataji song for Hindi and Jamunarani.amma song for Tamil. Even now both the versions are mega hits.Nothing wrong in deriving inspiration from other songs and other languages.Listeners are benefited. No.doubt MSV was great.

Actually this SJ song was a kannada folk song.Msv tkr used in mahadevi and later Ilayaraja used this in vaidehi kathirunthal rasathi unnai kamatha song

From Mahadevi Song "Singara Punnagai" was the inspiration for Raasaathi Onnai Kaanaadha Nenju as reportedly revealed by IR to MSV during Mella Thirandhadhu Kadhavu Composing Session during which MSV had reportedly appreciated IR for Raasathi Onnai Song in R Sundararajan's earlier film Vaidhegi KaathirundhaaL. I just thought I'd sharing this info here.

Manoramasridhar - After reading your comments, I immediately went for the song "Innanule Priya". It is just the inspiration from the Tamil hit song "Muthukkalo kangal". In many places in this song, Melody queen Suseela has sung with 75% resemblance of the above Tamil song. You can just listen to muthukkalo kangal and I hope you will surely have the same inference as mine. Regards

Your demonstration for this song was as good as done by MSV in a TV Channel. The notes played in a flute in that Hindi Song which were reproduced by you orally were awesome. MSV also stated that when he happened to meet Naushad Ali Jee at a later day and briefed him about the inspirational song and Poo Maalaiyil Naushad Ali reportedly told MSV Sir, "No No, I don't find even an iota of similarity between these two songs and I am unable to accept your statement as both appear to be entirely different". I think it's telecast in the Mega TV Programme Endrum MSV. Any way, how MSV was able to convert that inspirational song into a Bheemplas based composition is a Million Dollar Question. And that Opening Rhythm for this song that precedes TMS's Opening Humming @ a single breath @ Bheemplas / Karnataka Deva gandhaari is a phenomenal one. Yes, this kind of phenomenal Opening could be created only by a legendary composer like MSV.
