- In 2011 the Broerenkerk Church in Zwolle, the Netherlands was turned into a bookstore and a restaurant. Just before this somewhat sad transformation in 2009, Dutch metal/rockers Delain gave a fabulous concert. So it’s probably the last concert you’ll ever see at this church. It was their last gig in the April Rain tour.
Recorded with 5 cameras. 3 Sony HVR1, 1 Hitachi and 1 JVC. Well what do we learn from that. Never use 3 type of cameras at the same moment for the same film. But apart from a few audio hick-ups at the end of Pristine we thinks it's ok.

O Charlotte, you will always be the heart and soul of Delain to me. I miss you so much, but at least I have these old videos to remember you with.
Everything comes to an end at some point. Charlotte had been with Delain for many years, so we have many great memories!
Actually it's now more than clear that she wasn't the heart and soul of the band. She prefers different music. The Keyboard guy is the heart and soul of the band.

I have seen Delain twice opening for Nightwish. I love this band and met Charlotte. What a great gal she is and what a fantastic band.
God damn I miss Marco. Hope he's found comfort and happiness, and that life is kind to him.
Man, I just discovered this band today after Spotify queued it up for me.. Damn, so glad I found this band. Great songs and Charlotte has the voice of an angel.
Wow this concert was epic. Such angelic vocals and fantastic music. Delain are one of the best symphonic bands there is. Or were, so sad that they broke up. I wish they would reunite.
It brings the songs to a new dimension when Marco sings.

amazing band to go and see live...
now that Delain has disbanded and Marko Hietala has quit Nightwish, it would be awesome if Wessels and Marko started a band together. Still bummed about having discovered Delain during the pandemic so I'll never see them live. Screw it, just bring all the Delain band members aboard, have them write epic music and then tour the shit out of this planet.
I have the same thoughts for Marco and Charlotte, they have many songs together 5 in Delain's first album and 2 in the second and in fourth album another two,they perform together in about a half season and left their bands almost together.
I found Delain also in covid era and it's too bad also i will never seeing them in live also and unfortunately for me i could not see Marco with NW.
I had a ticket for Vienna late 2020 but because covid this concert canceled and now I will miss him too.
But can you imagine both? Epic!!!
@@stasa-X The Only reason Marco was here, is because of being friends with Delain's keyboard player. People always only focus on the singer, while the singer rarely is the core of the band.

Thank you so much for (finally) uploading this. I was present at this concert and camped the internet for so long... waiting for this to be released. Boy this brings back memories! Happy 10 year anniversary of this awesome concert :D
Thank you for uploading this concert footage. There isn't high quality Delain live video's out there. I saw them twice in LA in the past two years, and I couldn't believe how great they were. Also, Charlotte passed right by me during Nightwish in the lobby. She's amazing!
If that was the first time the audience had seen Marko in this gig, what a buzz that must have been. He adds such a different dimension to the song.
I was there, and yea, it was amazing! You can hear a little bit of it, but the crowd went wild when he came on stage. :P

This video and concert is old. And I can’t believe the audio recording and camera is better than Paradiso a decade of delain. Even Marco was in this one. I felt so disappointed and betrayed about being a pledger on their “project” without content. But I still love Delain, apocalypse and chill is a masterpiece.
I can understand the critique of the camera work, but I have the Blu Ray from Paradiso and the sound is amazing and I have a very good audio system. I was at Paradiso and the sound was great at the show too

Well hopefully my final upload for this concert. Due to some technical problems with the automatic YT conversion system, new video uploaded last week to YT suffered from a lot of stuttering and or audio/video synchronization problems. Hopefully YT fixed it. The video was set private for a few days and still without any problems. So hopefully now it stays that way, fingers crossed.

At 11:51, you get pretty much the essence of what being in a live concert with a band like this is all about....That connection between the band and the audience and viceversa....I'm jealous for not being there.. 😡

yeah awesome concert too bad so many members changed over the years. Finally get to see a full show for the first this spring when they headline a tour. I got VIP tickets so get to meet the band as well.
Argh, so frustrating. I was there, but none of the cameras show where I was standing clear enough to see myself. (Was standing on the left side behind (or in front of depending on how you look at it) the speaker tower. Once, right at the end, I can even see the friend I had come with just peeking behind the speaker. And I was standing to the left of him. xD

@@Gandalf1977 The first albums of Nightwish are my favorites. And Marco wasn't in Nightwish then. So for me Nightwish without Marco is just as much Nightwish with him.
I think Nightwish will no longer exist as an active touring band anyway. They will follow Delain.
Marko's retreat into private life has had a greater impact than many believe. But at NW brake lights were already on before Corona has become a worldwide problem.

So is this mostly audio from the albums, or audio from the live show? Or a mix or album and camera audio? Cause the music sounds pretty clean but the dialogue between sounds like camera audio.
This is mostly audio from the live show recorded separately with 24track. Between some songs there was no 24track sound so I inserted some cam dialogue to fill up. But overall there is no studio sound from the CD albums. All is live as it is.

i wouldn't say she is fit for Nightwish caliber... i like Charlotte's interesting *nasal* voice with amazing stuff in Delain, kinda separates them from Operatic grands like Nightwish and Epica and Xandria, i prefere Operatic more, but Charlote's delain is definitely amazing, in its own way. for Nw can work Manuela Kraller or Simome Simons maybe if she is not tired with Epica:D and ofc Tarja, i will never stop waiting for this miracle to happen:D
