- This documentary is about the house of Raj Kapoor, the star hero of the Indian film industry. Raj Kapoor belongs to Peshawar and Kapoor Haveli in Peshawar was built by Raj Kapoor's father. The family moved to India after the partition of India, but Raj Kapoor and his sons kept visiting their ancestral home, Kapur Haveli. Peshawar and Kapur Haveli lived in the heart of the Raj Kapur family. Whenever a resident of Peshawar went to meet Hindustan Raj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor always welcomed him warmly and said that he had a special love for the people of Peshawar.
Kapoor House is a historical building located in Peshawar, Pakistan. It is a beautiful two-story house that was built by a wealthy Indian trader named Lala Girdhari Lal Kapoor in the early 20th century.
The Kapoor House is a unique example of the blend of British and Indian architectural styles, with its grand façade and intricate woodwork. The house has 52 rooms, 21 of which are located on the ground floor, and the remaining 31 rooms are on the upper level.
The Kapoor family resided in the house until the partition of India and Pakistan in 1947, after which they migrated to India. The house was then sold to the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and was used as a library and research center until the early 2000s.
Today, the Kapoor House is in a state of disrepair and is in urgent need of restoration. The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced plans to restore the building and turn it into a museum and cultural center. However, due to financial constraints and bureaucratic red tape, the restoration work has not yet begun.
