- Launching into my next project, I thought I would begin by sharing a few thoughts on creativity and how we can take inspiration from others and make it our own. (That's just the first 5 minutes of the video, then we get onto the making!).
I've already started part of this project inspired by lovely Margreth @sevenplaza where she makes this file folder ( link below).
I've been planning something 'witchy' for some time as I've hoarded a heap of papers that look like they belong with spells and potions and my recent purchase of Tim Holtz Mica stain sprays needed an outing too!
In this video I've already made the folder but I talk through the decorative process then we kick into creating and decorating the magical elements to go inside - a witch's journal and collection of spells, cures and potions.
Grab a cup of your own potion, sit down and watch.

Austin Kleon is correct. When someone gets their panties all in a bunch thinking they’ve been copied, it’s only that they haven’t seen what came before. When I was making jewelry I was accused of copying. Yes, I kind of copied - an ancient Egypt bracelet. If you’re familiar with David Yurman’s famous bracelets, you can find the Egyptian originals in the Louvre. How full of yourself does one have to be to worry about how paper is folded?
Yes, it's so true. I'm getting more relaxed about it now. I guess a carbon copy is one thing but your own interpretation something completely different!
Oh, this copying thing is just so silly. You know if you put pages between a cover you’ve made a book books have been made for years and years and years is that copying or all the books a copy? No certainly not that there was a silly thinking it’s inside that counts really It’s how you’ve created that book it’s how it inspires others whether it’s with writing or pictures or fabric or paintings or whatever whatever is in your book they’re all different, so how can they be a copy? A car is a motor and four wheels all cars are not the same all cars are not copies Goodness sakes let’s just share what we do and in fun let others find what they find it and then hopefully they inspired or moved in someway positive
